I'll start first, I have so many to mention.

About two years after I said my shahada and came to Islam I had a childhood girlfriend that was having difficulties with my conversion. She respected my choice but couldn't understand the appeal of Islam. This was a win-win situation for us, it would give me the opportunity to educate myself more and to affirm what I believe in, as well as a dawah experience for her. I focused heavily on Qur'an and hadith and I would share stories with her wherever we went. Islam for her was such a natural thing that before we even read the entire Qur'an together, she decided to take her shahada. Allahu akbar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay time for another one, but this is more of a progressive dawah rather than a specific experience.

I work with a female who spiritually does not identify with any religion (but IS a believer). We talk about how she became disinterested in Christianity in her teenage years. She often has told me that Islamic concept of tawheed is something that she agrees with but a lot of the physical changes she would find difficult (abstaining from alcohol/drugs, modesty, etc). Actually last week she asked me to bring an extra hijab. I tied it on her and she wore for about 10 mins. Alhamdulillah

i am not patient enough to do dawah lol
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

                      Bismillah,

I attended a course. It was a basics course in Dawah.

The most important thing I learned is that if we want to invite people to Islam, we should apply the exact same methodology applied by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta3ala in Qur'an.

And that is glad tidings and warnings. You must give people things that appeals to them and you must give them that which scares them.

Because People are motivated by push and pull factors. This is how Allah subhanahu wa ta3ala designed mankind to be.

The reason why Christianity is bankcrupt, is because they tell people that God is love and God died for our signs. This concept of God being only love and him dying for our signs doesn't make sense. And it has not real life applicability.

What we need is to have trust in Allah's mercy and generosity and fear his wrath.

This is a balanced way of life which prevents on from living in fear or living in negligence.

Therefore, when you tell someone about Islam, make sure you recite many verses of the Quran and mentioning many Ahadith.

The balance between the Verses must be based on glad tidings and warnings. Similarly with Ahadith.

One more important matter we should always remind ourselves with, is mercy. Always be very merciful towards non-Muslims. Don't use harsh language nor scare them.

People, especially young men have the urge to lash out at kaafirs. This is not the methodology of the Prophet sal allahu alayhi wasalam.

You must balance yourself. Be nice and merciful when appropriate. And be harsh and tough when appropriate.

Some Muslims pretend to be Hare Krishna's. They make our religion look like a joke.

And some others make Islam look like terror. This only feeds the already widespread negative sentiments about Islam.

                      ---------------------------------

My personal experience in dawah is very limited. I have talked allot with atheists, agnosts, Christians, Sufis and Shi'ites. So far I've only delivered the message the best I can. And considering the knowledge I have I can say that I am a very poor messenger.

However, I have many friends who are very good. One of my friends helped a sister live on tv to say the Shahadah. And one of my teachers in the Madrassah helped many many people to enter Islam.

I always join fatherings where people are being invited to Islam.

You can learn some much from the brothers who are doing Dawah.

One thing I learned is to be very careful not to distort the message of Islam. If you give people wrong infomration, and they accept Islam, if they deviate into Sufism or Shi'ism or Extremism, you will be held responsible on the day of Judgement.

This Ramadan one of my colleagues at work vowed to abstain from any alcohol and marijuana. Another one made a promise to herself that she would quit smoking. Even though they are not viewing their sacrifices as a spiritual thing, they are beginning to see the changes in their lives.

I am probably wrong in saying this but I don't like the concept of tableeghi jamaa't atleast I don't agree with part about on knocking on people's doors .. That jus pisses people off and is rude to show up at someone's door step without their permission and prior knowledge
It's enough that I know, Our time had a home, In your heart..Was a place..But the glass always breaks..

Tableegh Jammat is not Welcome, the scholars refuted them a 1000 times.

It was not done in that way either by the Prophet (pbuh) nor by his noble companions(rad).

But doing Dawah on daily Basis is something important, with Muslims with non Muslims, but then when you have knowledge alittel.

To a Muslim you can tell brother prayer slowly with khushoo or MashaAllah you did this good and that good inshaAllah make this correct it does not suite and and.
