An ijtema is a huge gathering of Muslims who usually come in jama'ats with their local masajid, coming together to strengthen their 'iman by listening to scholars and elders of the work of da'wah and tablîgh. There are talks after every prayer held whose aim is help us remember our true purpose as followers of Rasulullah (saw) which is to carry on his message and through this noble work our self-rectification is the main aim which sought. It is a very blessed gathering so please spread the word إنشا ءلله.

In previous years the numbers exceeded a few thousand. So I would say this year it would be more since the work of dawah and tabligh has really picked up in the States alhamdulillah.

The thing is, people are so accustumed to using labels that it is confusing them if you dont use a label.

I prefer that people say what they have to say and do what they have to do, and we should judge people by their actions.

If someone says to be following Quran and Sunnah and then this person goes on to do something that is against Quran and Sunnah, then we shouldn't call this person a follower of Quran and Sunnah.

But sadly the reality is quite contrary. You have to adjust yourself to a particular school or movement and be part of it and take everything from this name or label otherwise you are misfit.

This is why I hate labels. I am just a Muslim and I try to follow Quran and Sunnah. I try.

Uhh...not really but I have great respect for their `ulema and the major contributions and sacrifice they have made for our deen. As for the work of da`wah and tabligh, just like with any work of deen, I try to benefit where I can and I personally find tremendous benefit in this work just as I find benefit in al-Maghrib classes and in the gatherings of the people of tasawwuf.

                              And Allah knows best.
