  • Trusting muslims a mistake?

Why is it that so many muslims are untrustworthy? why do they stab each other in the back?

Seriously, since I live in Canada, I have seen the non muslims here are so much more trusty worthy then us, they are not corrupt like us and dont cheat like the so called(muslim brothers) and are not corrupts like muslims.

no wonder the non muslim societies and countries are so much more advance then us.

Its almost like Allah has decided to be with non muslims and left muslims to rot in hell, no wonder muslims are in such horrible conditions almost everywhere

This very topic we were discussing a few days ago. Actually the problem is not with the Muslims though we have the best teachings of our religion and code of conduct. Where the problem exists ? We actually don't have system where we could practice our teachings like we be honest, we be truthful, we be faithful, we be promising etc etc.
If you go through the history a century ago, these westerners were worse than us but a system gave them a direction and a thought.
They are taught in schools, through media and other mediums that this is right and this wrong and they implement their laws forcefully.
It is human nature when he does something regularly, it sits in his nature and becomes a routine thing no matter how hard it is for them.
There is no law implementation in our Muslim countries so our people are growing up with no ethics, no direction, no vision for the future.

There are over a billion Muslims in the world. Just like Emkhan says, I feel like its more of a societal issue than a religeous one. People who are poor by nature are more prone to be survivalists. I don't think thats painting with too broad a brush. People develop a capacity for trust based on what they stand to loose vs. what they posses. I think...

Actually, what you are appear to be talking about is economics. Muslims in some parts of the world are doing very nicely, but on the whole Muslims make up the bulk of the world's abjectly poor.

Yes, there are good non-Muslims. My sister-in-law for one. But the vast majority of people I chose to be around are Muslims. It's simple. I seek commonality, I seek familiarity and I seek understanding. Invariably that leads me to Muslims.

There are those you stab you in the back, but you would find those kinds of people everywhere. You might find them in a masjid; but equally you might find them at the office, the disco; the next wedding or Barmitzvah that you go to. Wisdom teaches you to avoid them eventually and to pick your friends more carefully. Also, that word "friend". That to me is a title that I give to an extremely narrow select band of people. Yes, I am picky.

As for your last paragraph. I don't know what to say, except you appear to have some crisis of faith. Put it this way Allah gives us a life and a world of opportunity. Somethings are fixed and that is your starting point. Other things are down to us. If you feel that Allah has abandoned you; consider that it might possibly be the other way round.

i am not talking about religion... i am talking about system.
We Muslims don't have a system in our countries. The more stronger you have a political, judicial, social, economic system based on justice the more developed and prosperous your people are.

for some religion has become nothing else but a trend they follow for the sake of people around them. I don't allow myself to lay that amount of faith on other people's dedication to their faith or religion. The tag "Muslim" doesn't always gurantee decency. You just have to depend and polish the credibility of your own judgment and learn not to be so vulnerable. If someone breaks your trust, take it as a lesson and move on. Don't hold it against all the Muslims in the world.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

Where I live a Muslim will look out for another Muslim. If I go to a kebab shop and tell the turkish man there that I am an Afghan/Muslim and talk a bit with him he will give me a discount.
If I go to the Iranian barber's he will give me a discount.
If I go to the Somalian guy's phone shop he will give me a discount.
Because Muslims here looks out for eachother (if they are decent humans as well). I get asked where I am from by customers when they come to my parent's shop where I volunteer. It always brings a smile to their face when they hear I am Muslim. They refer to me as 'my brother'.

In fact perhaps a month or two ago as I was walking home a somalian man came up to me asking for directions to London Central Mosque. I asked him why and he said he was visiting his brother who was in hospital but thieves took his wallet and train tickets back to Edinburgh. He asked me if I was Muslim and I said yes. His sad features became slightly more relaxed and he carried on to tell me that he applied for a zakat donation from the mosque. I gave him directions etc and before he left he said 'I knew you were a good Muslim, may Allah bless you'.

In conclusion: Do not use your personal experiences to judge the rest of the Muslims. There are good Muslims and bad ones too. Just as there are good & bad people of other faiths. You are kidding yourself if you seriously think that most Westerners are morally superior to most Muslims.
