What do you mean by people who are out of the fold of normal islamic beliefs?

I don't think Naik is a bad guy, I don't think he's useless or should be disregarded either, but i also don't think he's a scholar or is anywhere near knowledgable as compared to some other aalims.

Initially, I too thought he was good (mostly because of his rapid quoting style he took from Ahmed Deedat) but after really paying attention to him i do have issues with his methods, his style, and many of his thoughts. he preaches the "middle way" but comes out with some pretty major extremes. he blows his own trumpet (a lot), and more importantly, he is very repetitive. after sitting through a couple of his Q&A's there is nothing new to learn from him, it's all the same stuff, same examples, same quotations, even the same questions being asked over and over again! does no one honestly have a new question to ask him??? listening to him is like deja vu, he's just memorised heaps of stuff and has put it on repeat. a very desi-style-ratta-maar.

I don't believe anything that doesn't make sense to me, he has said stuff that hasn't made sense to me and he's failed to explain it appropriately, so I have disregarded those bits he's preached, the rest, i'm ok with, but no one seems to stop him when he's wrong or extreme, nor does anyone even question his method of preaching. a couple of times i could have sworn the questions asked were clearly staged, they fit right in where they had to, and even a non-sense reply is always accepted??? and no one is allowed to ask for clarification either??? he is totally staged.

This kid wants some e-fights. Last year he came and started harassing certain members because of their beliefs.
King zazai you are not even a pashtun. Stop spreading sheikh non-sense here.

                  Stop the personal attacks. *rollseyes*

Personally, I think Zakir Naik has done an outstanding job in regards to Muslims living in India. He has given them a platform to practice their religion - and that too, not a bad one. It is wise of him to deal with people according to their background and he does a fairly decent job, way way better than many others. Because he doesn't live in the west he probably wouldn't connect with us as it wouldn't be so beneficial to us and our lifestyle.
I desire that which is Just - House of Dukemina.

This is not a refutation, but a rant that advocates one particular side in a conflict between two extremist groups. Both groups should be avoided.

Zakir Naik is a great speaker when it comes to polemics. But he is not a scholar and cannot be relied upon to answer questions related to sacred law or beliefs.

zakir naik himself has admitted that he is not a sheikh, or an Alim. He has not studied Islam in any type of Islamic institution or taught by any Sheikh.

You don't need to be taught in any Islamic school, or by a sheik. I have taught myself like Zakir Naik has.

Would you put Anwar Al-awaki in that list? Isn't he a Sheik?
