Well i was lucky i grew up in all muslim girls schools , which had the best female islamic scholars, alot of material, but my father had a whole library of islamic literature at home too, which i started reading and couldn't put down ,and would stay up late studying it, islam's a ocean jump in there's too much to learn.
Kakargirl
hope one day you can teach afghan kids in Afghanistan.
i think Dr Zakir Naik and his peace tv(urdu/english) are good resources.

past few years my main source for seeking islamic knowledge is scholars like Bilal Philips, Tariq Ramadan, Hamza Yusuf, Zaid Shakir or if i have a specific question i go to islamic QA websites but i'd say the best source would be to read Sahih Bukhari.

True, the best way to read the authentic book by your own self. But you find difficulty then you have to go to some scholar.
as we know Knowledge of Islam is a must and you can't teach yourself so
where do you get your Islamic knowledge from living in the west????? plz share
SunniPath.com and SeekersGuidance.org are both excellent resources with online courses and Q&A services. They of course don't replace sitting at the feet of a scholar and studying in person, but they offer courses in various sciences taught by qualified, reliable scholars using classical texts.
