  • A beautiful Adhan

This is one of the most beautiful adhan I have come across. I made the video for it. The premise is that something/someone is looking for where the voice/sound is coming from...so the videos shows the search and at the end source is found.

Because, when Allah is literally translated, it means "God" or "the God".

With all due respect, Wrayun Jaana,

I beg to differ. Allah is the personal name of God.

Allah does not mean "the God." "Al Ilah" means "the God."

There is no root for the word "Allah." I could go on about the morphological structure of the word "Allah," however, if we simply pay attention to the first part of the kalimah we could see that no other "god" exists. Therefore, it nullifies the whole idea of there being "the" God, because there is only One God.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

                        Wasalaamuna MWMN grana,

I understand where you are coming from, and I also understand why people might feel that Allah is a personal name for God, however the facts points to the contrary.

For example, Allah, is derived from Al-ilah. It is an established fact, because the same name exists in other languages for example Aalaha in Aramaic, and Eloh in Hebrew, derived from the same root i.e. Al-Ilah.

Allah - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

                        The first Kalimah, goes:

                        La Ilaha IlAllah

La (no) ilaha (god) il (but) Allah (God)

"there is no ʾilāh (god) but al-Lāh (the God)"

                        It is explained here:

ʾIlāh (Arabic: إله‎; plural: آلهة ʾālihah‎), is the Arabic for "deity" or "god". The feminine is ʾilāhah إلاهة "goddess"; with the article, it appears as al-ʾilāhah الإلاهة. It appears in the name of the monotheistic god of the Abrahamic religions as al-Lāh, literally "the God".

ʾIlāh is cognate to Northwest Semitic ʾēl and Akkadian ilum. The word is from a Proto-Semitic archaic biliteral ʔ-L meaning "god" (possibly with a wider meaning of "strong"), which was extended to a regular triliteral by the addition of a h (as in Hebrew ʾelōah, ʾelōhim). The word is spelled either إله with an optional diacritic alif to mark the ā only in Qur'anic texts or (more rarely) with a full alif, إلاه.

The term is used throughout the Qur'an in passages detailing the existence of God and of the beliefs of non-Muslims in other divinities. Notably, the first statement of the šahādah is, "there is no ʾilāh but al-Lāh" "there is no god but God".

A personal name or character is a limitation. We as human beings impose our narrow-minded, egotistical perspective on God, because we have unique identification, therefore God must have one as well. Though I have come across many learned Muslims that says that Allah, is preferred over all titles and names because it describes God in perfect sense i.e. the God. Not just any deity, but "the GOD". It is not because it is God's personal name.

Don't forget that ilah, eloh, aalaha, are very similar, and it would be a false extrapolation to say that they all mean Allah. They all mean god.

Moreover, even top notch Arabic grammarians have a problem figuring out where the word "Allah" came from, let alone the morphologists.

The only way to be sure of this is to know that Allah is genderless; moreover, when it comes to some morphological rules in the Arabic language, the word "Allah" is exempt and behaves irregularly. Moreover, we do not have any knowledge of how al ilah became Allah. However, it is very easy to tell how Allah became al ilah. Also, one has to give the root letters for the word Allah and give other examples of other words to illustrate how the definite particle assimilated. We don't have any of that in the Arabic language.

In other words, there is a huge debate on this subject. The only thing people have resorted to is to say that Allah is "The God." However, even those initiated this line of thought were skeptical of their own views.

Don't forget that the letters for Allah is: alif-laam-laam-laam-alif-hah. Where did the extra laam come from; and, where did the alif go, and why is there an alif after the last laam?

Also, remember that Arabic words do not have more than five root letters. The reason why I say this is because the word "Allah" appears as such and is not detachable. And, let us say if it was detachable what root word has laam-laam-alif-hah. If were to assume that the alif is extra and not part of the root letters, then what does laam-laam-hah mean? Finally, what pattern would laam-laam-alif-hah fall under?

anyway i prefer allah to the label god. because in the christian connotation it is an old bearded man in the sky, which really doesn't fit with my idea if creation/creator, which to me is 'all'.
