Joke about Wahbis
In a punjab village there were two stores. One was run by a Hundu, called Lala and the other by a Muslim. Hundu Lala was smart in public relation and his store was pretty popular. The Muslim store owner thought of degrading the Hindu Lala to get his business. He started telling the villagers that Lala is Wahabi, why you Muslim go to a Wahabi store, come to my store I am not Wahbi, and he succeeded in making fool of the simple people of the village. The end of Ignorance, is the beginning of Knowledge.
Knowledge has no end. It keeps expanding into the infinity.

I think some of your guys attitudes towards different sects is deplorable. No wonder Muslims are in there present condition. This kind of shameful attitude has kept the killing and bloodshed alive.
If you don't believe something keep it to yourself and follow whatever youfeel is correct. Ultimately it is god who if you believe will make the desicion of who are the right ones or not.

i again say both sufi and salafies are wrong in many of the things they do, i lived in saudi for a very long time and i know how hypocrtical salafies can be, and trust me religious saudis love cake and other fatty foods too, have you seen how fat saudis even relgious saudis can be??? so before insulting others look at your own sect too, Salafies are known to love the tyrant Saud royals
again i am not sufi or salafi, i am just giving outside opinion

You're hilarious.Originally posted by شمله ور خراساني View PostLOL, comparing a fake "islamic celebration" of Sufis which they certify as a religious act with celebrating the life of Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab doesn't add up.
Muhammd ibn Abdul Wahhab was not a prophet. And such a celebration is never deemed as a religious act/act of worship.
I think someone should quote this, so that everyone can see that this person thinks it is perfectly fine to celebrate the life of a scholar, but not okay to celebrate the life of Rasulullah Salla Allahu Alayhi wa Salam.

What is even more unfortunate is that the Noble Birth is referred to as Christmas. Even if one doesn't celebrate it, the day is still the day of the Prophet's (Allah bless him and give him peace) birth. To call it by the name of a holiday that celebrates the supposed incarnation of God (we take refuge with Allah) is to show utter disrespect. Even Abu Lahab expressed joy at the birth of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace). Today Muslims are calling it Christmas. Allah forgive us.Originally posted by maneatinglizard View PostI think someone should quote this, so that everyone can see that this person thinks it is perfectly fine to celebrate the life of a scholar, but not okay to celebrate the life of Rasulullah Salla Allahu Alayhi wa Salam.

Dear brother, this is a false dichotomy that results from not understanding what the two terms mean, or it is set up to make it seem that the two are opposing sects.Originally posted by Karachi View Posti again say both sufi and salafies are wrong in many of the things they do,
Sufism and Wahhabism/Salafism are not two opposing sects. The dichotomy is actually between mainstream traditional Islam (Ahl al-Sunna or Sunni) and Wahhabism. Wahhabism is a sect because it beliefs and practices deviate from traditional Islamic beliefs and practices. Sufism is not a sect, but a science within traditional Islam. By belief and practice Sufis are Ahl al-Sunna/Sunni; they follow one of the four schools of Sunni Islam.
Tasawwuf (Sufism) is at the heart of traditional Islam; it is the loftiest of the Islamic sciences. Tasawwuf (Sufism) has always been part of traditional curriculum at every Muslim university. Every great Muslim scholar studied and practiced Tasawwuf. Tasawwuf (Sufism) is the science of the purification of the heart; it is the science of achieving perfection and excellence in worship and character. Tasawwuf is imbuing oneself with the conduct and character of the Prophet, who is the Mercy to the Worlds (Allah bless him and give him peace).
I invite you to read an excellent article that explains this far more clearly: The Place of Tasawwuf in Traditional Islam.

correction, the day is after numerous attempts at guess work "accepted" as the Prophet's day of birth.Originally posted by Mujib View PostWhat is even more unfortunate is that the Noble Birth is referred to as Christmas. everything else I agree with though. the false analogy with christmas is logically false.

then allow me to interject and correct him, both those who validate these extravagant and unnecessary practices such as Mawlid and those who grievously sensationalize the errors of the practice are wrong.
While it's true Tasawwuf is an Islamic science, there are in fact people who identify themselves as Sufis, who have made their practices and ideas into a sect on the grounds you have stated above for Wahhabiyah followers. Similarly Wahhabiyah convey themselves as Ah Al-Sunnah, but have gone into their own groups. thus both groups are wrong.

If you refer to my joke, you did not understand it. It is neither in favor or against any sect. It is about the ignorance of the people who even could not understand that a Hindu be a Wahabi. The Muslim shopkeeper was so cunning that he took advantage of the ignorance of the people.Originally posted by Tbug View PostI think some of your guys attitudes towards different sects is deplorable.
