  • What's wrong with Arabs...

I find them unsophisticated with extremely coarse voices, coarse talk, and crude mannerism....Intellectually as well one finds only baren-ness. although by heart they are excellent people....It is unlike Iranians who appear to be very sophisticated....Why this contradiction...?

Probably, our Arab friends like SX shed some light on this.

Because you don't really know any Arabs or many Arabs, your understanding of Arabs is molded by the media and other outlets.

but why would a Farangay loving Hindu care what Arabs are like anyways?

by the way, why do you keep posting ethnic stuff in a religious section, what are you trying to insinuate; are you internalizing Persian nationalist inferiority issues again?

Really, I find Persians (Iranians) very sophisticated and resourceful compared to "banda-i-sahrai".....

Come on brother you are better than this ethnic anecdotal attack. I mean I just recently starting reading Ibn Khaldun for the first time and the man was genius. His commentary on the governmental opportunist rings true even today. The honesty of Tabari, and his objectivity laid the foundation for evidence based history.

Heck, even the hindus are actually a great and scientific people who made phenomenal contributions under the likes of Asoka and Chandragupta.

The Persians are an excellent race and have laid intellectual foundations for a great many number of things.

If you are talking about the conditions today, I hardly think that Mr Zadran (a pashtun) seen here:

Actually to be honest I agree, Persian culture traditionally has an aire of sophistication, it's very refined, but one has to distinguish Persian from Iranian, Iranians are a multitude of subcultures amalgamated into one nation. are Lurs and Kurds sophisticated like the Persians? In fact not at all, they're actually more resemblant in culture in so much as customs and way of life as your rural Pakhtun, Arab or what have you.

I don't however think that sophistication lacks it's merits, I adore the rich tapestries and art of Medieval Iran, even Ancient Iran has gems, even though as you know Ancient Pre-Islamic Iranian Hegemony used to try to stomp and exterminate the ancestors of Pakhtoons, hence why many of our Pakhtoon ancestors helped our new friends, the Muslim Arabs in overthrowing Yazdgird and Khusraw. I think there is a beautiful romantic quality about the Kuchi/Powanda, Bedouin or Nomad. Their pure way of life, not sophisticated at all but very connected to Nature, it's almost as if they're more connected to God and hence the ultimate Truth that way.

However Of course there are some snotty high browed Persians who will deem others "banda-e-sahrai" or Kohzad for mountain dwelling peoplebut those same Persians created the term "Afghan" for Pakhtoons, not as a term of respect but as a perjorative. But that's not really sophistication, that's just pompousness, something of little value to more enlightened people.

and i find it hilarious how some of you people are so consumed with race and ethnicity and love to compliment other races. its all about finesseand nothing more.

I love Bacha Khan Zadran, he reminds me of some crazy Afghan version of Wario.

although I'm a bit skeptical on the "da kommoonistano Bret"

how do you define sophistication? and is sophistication more meritorious than simplicity?

I recall you used to come here using the pretense of a simple Pakhtoon of Pakhtunkhwah; taking pride in the authenticity that such a self association that would bring to your agenda.

That's a tough question; I mean he was North African, and North African are genetically Berber, but he himself identified as being Arab

Ibn Khaldūn or Ibn Khaldoun (full name, Arabic: أبو زيد عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن خلدون الحضرمي‎, Abū Zayd ‘Abdu r-Raḥman bin Muḥammad bin Khaldūn Al-Hadrami, May 27, 1332 AD/732 AH – March 19, 1406 AD/808 AH) was an Arab polymath[1][2] — an astronomer, economist, historian, Islamic jurist, Islamic lawyer, Islamic scholar, Islamic theologian, hafiz, mathematician, military strategist, nutritionist, philosopher, social scientist and statesman—born in North Africa in present-day Tunisia
