yes it is near. the prophet (Saw) said became near almost 1400 years ago ever since he (Saw) split the moon. as every day passes, it inevitably becomes nearer.

even still, as people mentioned, we do not know when we will die. we can die at any instant. that's why its important to be obedient to Allah(swt) at all times.
