As Muslims we dont believe in evoloution right? if thats the case then how did from a single man and woman did chinese, black, white, brown people come from or develope? you could argue that it is adaptation but some would argue that the adaptation is really an evolving cycle.

i argue its adaptation
people adapted to their environment and became balck chineese white etc.
if you live in a hot place you are likely black or brown.
if you live in a cold place you are likely white.
and this doesnt apply to present time but past
i dont believe in evolution theory because there is no transistional form and the whole theory revolves around denying existance of God who created man woman animals planets etc.
big bang theory is another story

No, even historically Muslims had believed in various constructs of evolution, some of them however exclude humans in the mold of the evolutionary system of organisms. but none the less the concept isn't new to Muslims or various Islamic Interpretations.
Ibn Khaldun and Al-Jahiz are two medieval scholars who endorsed the view of evolution on some scale.

there's nothing in the Qur'an that human existence was "literally" made by "God's Hands" as such allusions are allegorical since "yad" is not a physical description. There are things in the Qur'an which literally describe organismal life as originating from water.
We can discern evolutionary concepts in the Qur'an if we take an intellectually honest reading of it.

While theories of evolution have been brought up in the Muslim world in the past, and before Darwin's time, the theory itself has shown its weaknesses through science, despite the best efforts of intellectually and morally bankrupt scientists to prove otherwise.
So, even though some scholars of Islam have entertained the possibility of some elements of the theories of evolution, and even though some aspects of the theory may be acceptable Islamically, I don't feel there is any need whatsoever to accept Evolution as taught by the secular world.
As for micro-evolution, then there is no problem with the idea, and various Ahadith even allude to the idea.
Salam Alaikum

Easy... Movement, light exposure, climate, food, geographic relief, altitude, weather all played a part.Originally posted by Manzareh View PostAs Muslims we dont believe in evoloution right? if thats the case then how did from a single man and woman did chinese, black, white, brown people come from or develope? you could argue that it is adaptation but some would argue that the adaptation is really an evolving cycle.
Dude, if you start questioning whether you descended from apes, than you need a slap.

I think quran talks about some of it how the angels collected the earth clay from the 5 continents just like we have 5 nations, the black africans the red indians ect the brown asians ect, yellow chinese ect and white ect, adam and eve salam were made of all five clays..........
Science, says people changed due to diet, climate, small groups separating interbreeding ect, mutation started to take place, the blacks skin to protect from heat, curly hair curled due to heat, nasal wideness to let out heat, chinese straight black hair yellow pigmentaion, extra fat around the eyes narrow nasal passage to protect from harsh storm climates, brown protect from heat but noses are a varietyand genetic mutation ,red indian red skin, hot blooded, thick skin , red meat eaters, wore less clothes ,white skin, gentic mutation, lighter narrow nasal passage to conserve heat lighter skin to let in vitamin d ect to survive in sunny less cold climate.Last edited by Guest; 02-13-2011, 08:42 PM.

kakargirl,
Only Allah knows how long people have dwelled on this planet. But there are also ahadith that say that first man Adam alihi salam was 90 cubits long, a cubit being the lenght of a grown man's forearm..a litter more than a feet. ZulQarnai, who is mentioned in the Quran, the literal meaning means the one with Two horns...and there are people who are born with horns. So the types and varieties of people have always been changing but so have the ecology and even the cosmos. Science can only assume about the past by holding everything constant...otherwise there is too much data to calculate..in this respect nothing can be said for sure of the past or the future.

This is one of those 'grey areas' for me. I haven't studied any biology to reconcile my 'academic' knowledge of biology with my religious faith.
So going solely by the Islamic reading that I have come across, I think the Islamic view is divided into two. There are those who reject evolution in any form, like Harun Yahya and those who subscribe to the theory in a limited form.
A recent article that I came across on one of the Islamic website, contended that one can believe in the evolution of animals but not humans, but because of my non-existent knowledge of biology, I could not get past the science jargon of the article and assess its contention.
