What makes you think Aisha was physically mature?
And why would 55 year old geezer chooses her as a wife?
Well my point is this; we don't actually know for sure either way. We can't actually assume. However, based on the type of society they lived in, Puberty was seen as a time for sexual adequacy since that's when reproductive ability occurs. (by the way reproductive ability doesn't necessarily mean, someone with reproductive abllity will use that ability).

There are other indications in which Aisha refers to herself as a "woman" at the stage of her consummation, which suggests she was most likely matured enough for a sexual relationship with her spouse.

But other than that, BOTH sides are guessing. It's just the standard Muslim narrative seems to have stronger weight because of the evidence that exists.

      lol weak
why did you even bother writing that. It doesn't say anything.

Aisha referred to herself as a woman after getting deflowered? lol nice explanation

"based on the type of society they lived in,"

This is also the same sick society that commonly buried their newborn baby daughters alive in sand.

I always had these objections even I was a muslim. I was just less vocal.
Elaborate on what? I see you mocking a set of beliefs adhered to by others and insulting their founder. Where is the enlightenment? Where is the tolerance?

It seems that your objections are born from your observances using your environment as the yard-stick to judge and not from an objective standard.

        • Just to be fair, Aisha was a young girl when she married Muhammad. However, she lived to be very old and she was the first Muslim, not to mention female, scholar and jurist. She not only narrated the most ahadith, but she also was the person who guided the Muslim on matters of fiqh.

I suggest that Atheist should not resort to "pedophilia" as a tactic to belittle Islam. Aisha was not harmed in any way due to her marriage to Muhammad.

A religion that casually stones people and kill homosexuals, shouldn' talk about wanting tolerance.

Elaborate on how I mock your prophet. I simply state his known deeds.
How is calling a person a pedophile an insult when he married a 6 year old girl because he saw it in his dream and had sex with her when she was 9?

Yes, sometimes pedophile victims can accomplish things.

              • My prophet? Why you assuming? I am allowed to brush you off and not be a Muslim.

So, you are objecting to Islamic Law? If so, then what are you using to be objective, the Western standard? If not, then what?

Why are you using pedophilia, a modern standard to judge Muhammad? Should you not judge Muhammad based on the standard of the time?

My friend, you have no clue what true Atheism is. A true Atheist is well informed and does not resort to emotions such as "hatred" and knee jerk reactions.

                  • If you people were really proud of what your prophet did.
You would be shouting pedophilia is good and giving away your daughters to old men.
We all know it's wrong. You people are just confused because he is your prophet.

If she referred to herself as woman, then you have no other basis to assume. We have to apply the Principle of Parsimony , since we have no other data which would challenge the claim The that evidence becomes stronger than Your hypothesis.

"Same sick society" ...Which has nothing to do with Pubescent Maturity ......nor would it invalidate the claim made here; which is that A Pubescent Consummation as the norm, implies Aisha was more likely not a PRE-pubescent

Saying "Weaaaaak" is not a refutation, and it self "Weaaaak"

Hahhahaa No kidding, she REALLY spent a lot of time digging that one up

But This doesn't prove anything. My dad was BORN in Afghanistan, in his teenage years he got a scholarship, went to college and Graduate school outside of Afghanistan, went back to Afghanistan to do relief work, met my mother.

                                No big deal.
