    Warning Against Christmas

In this Sermon (Khutbah) I warn against the dangers of celebrating Christmas. I also cover topics such as:

Is it allowed or prohibited for us as Muslims?

When was Prophet Jesus born (p)?

The pagan origins of Christmas and the cult of the SUN god who was worshiped in Rome, Persia, Babylon, and Egypt.

Did early Christians and Church Fathers celebrate Christmas.

The shocking truth about Santa Claus.

    AND

What do Muslim scholars say about Christmas celebrations?

as for celebrating... its not an Islamic festival so no need to answer that question... as for Christs (PBUH) he wasnt born on this day it was hijacked by early church fathers... a pagan festival of the birth of Mithras... Santa Claus was a bishop.... lived in Turkey and later canonised and became patron saint of children amongst other things...but if u want 2 wish a Christian a happy xmas theres no harm

Prophet Isa (pbuh) was born in January, and not December.

The Armenians and Chaldeans observe his proper birthdate.

Christmas is rooted in Germanic Paganistic festivities. For example, Santa Claus and all that.

We all know that Prophet Isa (pbuh) did not die on the cross, and was risen up before such a humiliation.

He is one who will come back to kill the Anti-Christ.

Christians worship him as a God, and this is where they have deviated completely so much so that the Christian religion is no longer considered monastic since they believe in the trinity.

              Tor_khan jan,

              Correction*

I am aware that some Christians celebrate his birthday in January. Albanian Christians on the other hand celebrate his birthday in January. Armenians and Chaldeans celebrate it today.

The whole matter of celebrating birthdays of Prophets is another discussion to begin with.

My main point I am trying to make is that Christmas has nothing to do with Prophet Isa (pbuh) at all, but more to do with Germanic pagan festivals demonstrated by examples such as Santa Claus.

Albanian Christians observe Prophet Isa (pbuh) birth in January. Being closely Eastern people, they are probably accurate.

Unfortunately, they still believe in him as a God rather than a Prophet, and this is also where the majority of Christians have gone astray. This began due to idol worship and also influence from the Romans who wanted a God that people could see.

So what, Its good to enjoy everybody's festivals, its everyones right to enjoy Eid/Christmas/Divali/Pagan rituals, if the individual wants to segrate the Muslim community away from the western world that is probably spending around 2 percent of its GDP to fund these Mosques and their hateful propaganda, then well I suggest they should pack their bags and visit a country where christmas is not celebrated, how about somewhere like China or even Saudi Arabia?

Christmas should be shunned not because it's Christian and not because it's Pagan; but simply because it's asinine, shallow minded and bent on Materialism.

The significance of Jesus' birth and all other attempts at embodying some spiritual significance into the day has long vanished.

This false paradox of "Islam vs. the West" or "East vs. the West" is a red herring; it is about those who Have standards of Justice vs. those who don't. Justice has no borders no territories, no Nationalism. Therefore the cause of Justice is as valid in North America as it is anywhere else.

Christmas represents injustice, much like thanksgiving. We will never progress until we shun injustice and all its Icons.

What about the black box and the black stone in Mecca?

Why do you walk around a Former home of Pagan Idols? and why do you worship a black stone and fight over it just to touch it and kiss it?

Sounds very much Pagan to me.

I intend no offence to you. Christmas can be seen how ever people want it to be seen, what gives you the right to detemine what is wrong and what is right, what harm does eating a turkey and celebrating Jesus birthday?

Its better than seeing Shias in the public whipping themselves with swords and other barbaric acts of self abuse. Paganism is what the first humans worshipped, and one of the worlds most attractive and peaceful religions are pagans(Buddists). The followers of One god have killed more Humans in his name than any Pagan has.

for me being any part of christmas is to show lack of commitment and faith on my part. i am muslim and celebrate muslim eids and no other festival outside our islam and sunna.

after that come other reasons such as perpetuating a christian hegemony of a pagan festival, mentioned by master khan, and other material and inane reasons suggested by scimitarX [scimitat, your reasons aren't inane, the reasons themselves are inane]

i see many muslims celebrating christmas, may allah give them strength of faith and courage to stand up and be recognised as muslims on such occasion rather than submitting to social pressure of their newly adopted countries - i think that courage, strength and commitment of faith will earn those people the respect and recognition as the proud people - isn't it cultural pride, fearlessness and strength of faith that pashtuns are famous for???????

When you say celebrating it what do you mean? Do you mean they go out and do some shopping taking benefits from the discounts? eat in resteraunts? maybe wear a red or green or white or blue sweater? Are they just happy? Are they going on vacations because of the days given off to them?

Master Khan; should we show up for work and not take the holidays? Should we say we don't want the holiday because we are muslims and we don't celebrate it?

I second unknownprince regarding the origins of so-called Christian events. Festivals like Christmas and Easter are derived from ancient Germanic cultures. The Germanics used to celebrate the coming of the Winter and Spring Solstices.

Heck, even the modern days of the week are derived from names of ancient Germanic gods.

I just want to add that Islam was very strict about not letting pagan events wiggle their way into it, but Christianity was very weak in that respect. Christianity adopted many pagan elements and fudged them a little to make them fit.

What about it? I don't see places being deforested for the sake of a Black Box

Large amounts of environmental, social and economic deterioration isn't caused by the black box. The black box isn't seen as a deity or embodying a deity or a physical manifestation of a deity. The fruits of the labor demonstrates what's really Pagan and what isn't; that's what separates Hajj over Christmas, and what separates harm versus felicity.

Paganism is what the first humans worshipped? I haven't found that in any Anthropological reference. maybe reverence for Nature in some form, but not Paganism.

You act as if there's a Dichotomy between what some people do during Ashoura and Christmas, considering neither have anything to do with the respective belief systems they claim to represent, it's merely red herring.

Even if we take what you're saying as fact that somehow "Buddhism is a Pagan religion and it's a most attractive religion"; looking at Buddhism theologically it views human life as some inherent cosmic curse of "Samsara" that human desires are intrinsically useless (contradicts the Neoimperialist concocted Modernity ploy), if you're arguing from the false notion that somehow it's a peaceful religion; it is not realistic to human nature. Humans have been adapted in a way which has aspects of violence and peacefulness.
So anyone who has the notion of it being an attractive religion must hate being human and/or resent life itself.

Either way it doesn't somehow redeem Christmas as being a vestige of social corruption.
