  • Prayers Please!

    Salam everybody,

I just wanted to start this thread to ask for your prayers. BLS, kandahari ella, and I will be writing the LSAT (law school entrance exam) soon and we need your prayers. We all want to be lawyers and give back to our people in whatever ways we can so please support us and help us achieve our goals.

If you don't pray or do not agree with praying, then please keep us in your thoughts and hope we do well. We are still your Pashtun brothers and sister and consider you the same.

PS: If I have forgotten anyone who is also writing the LSAT or a similar make it or break it test, please let yourself be known so that you too may benefit from the prayers and thoughts of our wonderful peers.

    Thank you very much.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

No apology required, khor jaan. Your friends' parent's need the prayers more than we need them right now. They are dealing with life and death situations. We should all pray for them too.

Thanks for the Dua's everyone. Insha'Allah we'll all do well. =)
"Do not lose hope in adversity and complain that God singled you out for punishment, remitting others guilty of worse sins. Your present state could very well be His intent to elevate your spiritual station. Or He could just be testing your faith. Everyday that you persevere, you grow closer to perfection. Thus, your present despair may be the beginning of an infinite blessing". - Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani.
