Americans are in Afghanistan because they have understood the meaning of the Pashto proverb "Che da marg werta oway no tabay ta ba tayyar shee". It is so interesting to note that Pashtuns knew this machiavellian principle of polity much earlier than others however they never used it as a principle in their foreign policy.
