  • Pakistani govt rejects changing Fronteir name on law enforcement agencies

PESHAWAR - The federal government has said a clear “no” to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s demand for changing the name of three law-enforcement agencies, namely, Frontier Police, Frontier Corps and Frontier Constabulary.

The federal government conveyed this in a letter to the provincial government and made it clear that no change of name for the above-mentioned three agencies would take place.

After renaming the NWFP as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the official orders for renaming all the government institutions accordingly have been issued, however, the afore-mentioned law enforcement agencies are still not renamed.

Earlier, the provincial government had asked the Centre for renaming Frontier Police, Frontier Corps and Frontier Constabulary as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Constabulary. Despite the fact that Frontier Police and Frontier Constabulary come under provincial government’s domain, the federal government expressed its unwillingness to name change.

to someone who values his own culture and identity it does matter. to some one who doesnt mind british carving up his land, and creating names for them and dismissing them as fronteir people then its a non issue
