there wasnt a thank button!Originally posted by MI6Pashtun Politics is very confusing.
We are not as united as you Kurds are.
But I personally support your right for independence and I support your Movement and cause against the aggression of the Turkish,Iranian and Iraqi States.
You see we are controlled by international powers including a bigger devil called Punjab, who uses Islam to keep us under their control.
We are now being killed daily and our culture is insulted by Taliban and ALqueda who are all former drug dealers/murderers with beards who get their orders from Non Pashtuns to keep us divided and keep away from our true nationalism.
I just wanted to thank you

Thank you for your answer, I support your movement too if one exist.. now I understand why my Pakistani friend goes red every time he sees the success of kurds.
We have liberated south Kurdistan (north Iraq) after 70 years of continues war and genocide, although it is 'autonomous' on paper we have our own government, army and borders with Iraq. so don't give up, there is still hope.

Hmm.. I don't know.. many kurds were tricked by turkey using the Islamic card, and like wise by the shia Persians... as far as I know, secular kurds were the most nationalist. Secular does not mean non Muslim, we are secular becuase we share our lands with Christians.Originally posted by شمله ور خراساني View Postwe are alhamdulilah muslims. First of all welcome to Pashtunforums. I hope you enjoy your stay. Yes Pashtuns and Kurds are related but I would say Baloch are linguistically closer.Originally posted by kurd123 View PostHello,

As some people have mentioned Pashtuns are divided on political lines, although our culture is virtually the same (regionally differences exist). Due to the British dividing Afghanistan in half and then further dividing the eastern half into separate political entities, there are political gaps among the Pashtuns and this more than anything fuels their division. The war that started in 1979 further exasperated the problems and now things are slipping downwards. However this has started to slowly give Pashtuns that push forward. It isn't ideal but it has started to slowly mobilize them.
I don't like generalizing societies or people, but I think the primary reason why your pakistani friend is like that has to do with Pakistan's close affinity with Turkey. Turkey is a close ally to them and they see any division of their muslim brethren turkish state to be similar to say the baloch seceding or say in the event Pashtuns do.

Thanks for your reply. Well I tried listening to a baloch song and it sounded like urdo to me, and not like kurdish at all, although they are supposed to be decendants of the medes too, I don't see that much of a similarity, kurds and lurs on the other hand are very similar.
