Nevertheless, I will say one thing i.e., as an option or slogan aside, there has not been much practical (or even conceptual) work or agitation done for the unification of Pashtuns under a Loy Afghanistan.

So the issue isn't whether there should be a Loy Afghanistan or not. Loy Afghanistan is not even a remote possibility.

The important question is, what should be a power-sharing formula acceptable to all groups in an Afghanistan with its present borders. As an outsider, as I see it, a lot has changed in Afghanistan as for as the balance of power between different groups is concerned. Pashtuns think and impartial observers have the opinion that the present distribution of power within Afghanistan doesn't reflect demographic realities. Pashtuns have genuine greviences and feel that almost all, including the West-US, involved in the Afghan coflict ever since have made some gains except Pashtuns, on both sides of the border, who have paid the highest price for all the benefits that have accrued to others.

So the point isn't whether there should be a Loy Afghanistan or not. It is, whether a federal democratic Afghanistan with its present territorial limits intact and important powers vested in the central govt while genuine representation given to regional/ethnic groups based on share in population as established by a neutral entity like UNO acceptable to minorities?

As I could sense from your posts in which you have talked of equality amongst ethnic groups, minorities, foremost its Tajak component, want substantial power vis-a-vis Pashtuns through an arrangment based on the concept of weak central government and strong regional units.

For Pashtuns, other concerns are the Durand Line, a divisive line that has affected Pashtuns a lot and scope/space for cultural advancement vis-a-vis the rising influence/pressure(coupled with expanding political power) of the neighbouring cultures/communities.

Right now, due to the division of Pashtun Land, Pashtuns don't have a strong center for cultural expression/promotion. You have Tajakistan and Iran working for your culture. Furthermore, your language also has a dominent position in Afghanistan. Pashtuns to both sides of the Durand Line want to maintain a kind of cultural contact with each other. It is another point how would the non-Pashtuns view it (i.e., why I say unification in a Pashtun state is the only viable option for Pashtuns).

Anyhow, we are looking forward to having more discussions with you and other Tajaks on such issues.
I think his point was the hypocrisy of calling for the Pashtun areas of Pakistan, but still hanging onto the Tajik areas of Afghanistan.

You have a good heart but however comments such as that shows your hidden agenda, due to the persinized pashtun elite, the majority of the region have no nation and no importance in regards to culture and language. You may moan and complain about farsi, but your an MINORITY, if we took your language away you will complain about pashtunisation but here you are directed supporting perisnization of pashtuns. Double Standards is not good.
hidden agenda? I just state a fact....did anyone put a gun on head of these Pashton elites and ask to talk Farsi or else? Farsi is the language lingua franca of Afghanistan...its just a simple fact...and yes Pashton rulers tried hard to replace Farsi...read Mohamod Tarzi and other Pashton scholars....but i do not hold that against general pashtons...it was done to establish a national identity for country based on dominate ethnics...but it failed miserable.

Its a very simple procedure, if Tajiks wants a Khurasan, find, go ahead and get it, but let me remind you that your cousins in Tajikistan suffer from 40 hunger famine near every year, there is no gdp in Tajikistan and most of Tajiks live on Russian Hand outs. Please read their economics.
Who said we want Khurasan? Yes there are some people on internet that promotes this idea but its their idea..not mine..changing the name of country will have no impact...call it Gooristan if you like. We need a new thinking, new idea, and new leader that thinks according to our national interest. We have to live with each other...we been living side by side for 1000s of years...time to establish justice for all, equality and true brotherhood.

It would be very simple for Pashtuns to cut all suppply routes, take over kabul just as Taliban did in a few hours as Ahmad Shah Masood ran away, make a trade pact with the balochis to access their port, expell tajiks from trade centers and markets especially in Pashtunkhwa.
Wishful thinking...in case that happen we will have our sea port throw Iran.

It wont be a matter of time before Hazaras will turn on Tajiks, Uzbeks who are unreliable allies may turn on tajiks and vice versa, who will be the loser here, plus we seen the way Iranians treated Tajik refugees in Tahran.

I am not saying this should Happen but one should also look at the consequences.

you made up thing then base your conc on that fairytales...forget about things that never will happen...concentrate on present...how you would stop the dog fight in Afghanistan that our neighbors are engaged in? Wt will you do for total destruction of Pashton by Pakistan.. turning pashtons into zombies...taliban.
