  • Is there anything that the majority can agree on?

Coming to this site to learn about how the Afghan people feel about their country is sometimes very confusing. It is a large country with many different groups of people.

I get rather frustrated sometimes when trying to learn anything, as one person will say this is what happened in Afghanistan, and this is what should be done.....and then the next post says the opposite.

    So I want to know is there perhaps something that the majority agrees with;

Do you think the U.S. involvement in Afghanistan has caused suffering, yes or no? Do you think the U.S. should be in Afghanistan? Have they done anything good?

Personally I trust very few armies of the world, if any at all. But I truly want to hear some opinions here.

I am ready to back off far far away.......very tired.

I can't speak for the majority. But the more this goes on, the more I am inclined to back off with you to that far away place.

The First World War resulted in the death of 18 million people. That is just one conflict.

There have been many before and many since and whilst humans do not seem to learn a basic lesson in life - that WAR = death, destruction and misery. Who on earth could be proud?

I should also add that whilst there is no justification for acts of barbarism - sometimes whilst trying to make sense of the ugly things that people do, I am reminded of this:

      Hmmm...

Should the US have interfered in 1979? No. But it did. Is there some way it can make amends for that interference? Yes. By removing the foreign terrorists it had trained, funded and planted in Afghanistan, the US could have redeemed itself to an extent. Has it achieved that? No, the US is doing it the wrong way. Bush-era and even post-Bush America is more about vengeance and "we will not forget" than actually genuinely helping others. The brand "America" itself now has an alienating influence on people....

The problem is that the American-Israeli seed of terrorism planted in 1979 by Pakistan on Afghan soil has blossomed into an entire forest. It's the ideology that we need to fight on and off the battlefield. I admire the Afghan resistance for standing up against an invasion that was carried out for all the wrong (geopolitical) reasons but the resistance's ideology is, ironically, the same that the US and Pakistan had enforced upon them in 1979. It will lead them back into the abyss. That's why I keep saying that no matter who wins and how, Pashtuns will lose. Look what has happened to Malakand, FATA, Kandahar.....
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

        Want more fighting?

The world history is dominated by wars. Result: destruction and killing of innocent people. Innocent people do not gain anything of winning or losing a war. They are the losers. Their homes are destroyed, their children and families vanish, being killed and disabled. But who care? It is an irony that Pakhtuns want more wars and fighting!

Will Pakhtuns ever have the Mercy of Allah?
The end of Ignorance, is the beginning of Knowledge.
Knowledge has no end. It keeps expanding into the infinity.

          Zayam,

Those Afghans who think and feel and care look around them with horror because of what is happening to their land, and a few of these try to make some effort to improve the situation. The rest, like dumb animals, eat, enjoy their endless glasses of qahwa (green-tea), go to work daily, and do not concern themselves with all these things. Meanwhile, the enemies of Afghans--who are Afghans themselves--plan their plans, wait for them to ripen, arm themselves, spread chaos in whatever way is possible under the given circumstances of the moment by terrorizing all who oppose them in ideology or actuality into silence....

What then is there for educated Afghans to do? As I see it, the greatest hope at present lies in acquiring as much education and training as possible, by means of which they can obtain positions of responsibility and leadership through which they can influence others; in uniting for this cause with other Afghans (Tajiks, Uzbeks, Hazaras, Pashtuns living in Pakistan etc.) and working as one solid unit toward this end, forgetting all minor and major differences for the sake of the greater goal; and in making a very earnest and far-reaching effort to communicate with, to educate and to activate the masses of simple and ordinary Afghans who love their land but remain totally inactive and unable to take any part in shaping the destiny of the nation.

Thus the task of educated Afghans is to make simultaneous and concerted effort not only to bring the various groups together for the common goal, but must also find a way to communicate with, to train and to mobilize the common Afghans. Until the Afghans realize this, other nations whether the USA, Iran or Pakistan will continue to use Afghan land for their subversive interests.

So why do you think that some Pashtun work together with the U.S. military?

only pimps, prostitutes, apostates, sell-outs and immoral pigs and monkeys support invasion of their homeland by kaafirs.

When you see how many people are killed, mutilated, tortured and raped and how many children are born disfigured because of the bombings, and you still see some pigs and animals supporting the presence of kuffar in our homeland, it is more convincing that the blood of any of these people is permissible.

And therefore the war against crusaders alone is not only justified but the war against their stooges and puppets aswell.

For the reasons cited here, you guys can not have the luxury of backing off.
That's despair and perhaps self-preservation instinct at work.

Despair is the worst part of that.

There is always hope when one is able to trust completely that Allah has a role for you to play to stop all the problems mentioned above.

What that role is, no one can say. But there is one for everyone who cares.

Education is OK, but one shouldn't place one's faith in that to a huge degree.

There is always the role of prayer and sacrifice to help the Afghans attain freedom from occupation so they can live their lives in peace at last after decades.
If something bad happens to you, you can offer this pain to Allah. Then some good fighter in distress or some housewife may be saved miraculously due to your vigilance in concentrating on your prayers.

Think what one's thoughts are about every day? About what these people must be going through? Or self-pity because of some relatively minor problem here in the West?
Self-pity is a huge drain on one's energies and it's so prevalent here.
Listen to your thoughts and check what percentage it consumes !!!
                  Meant nicely.

Is that your reason for supporting Taliban?

Yes, ever since Russian war. USA might have officially invaded Afghanistan in 2001, but indirectly they had already invaded us decades ago in face of Mujahideen. And I think each individual will think USA shouldn't be present in Afghanistan, but they just don't speak out against it because of money, good jobs, ignorance, etcetera. Of course, except for those who do speak out against it. Over all, LZ said it all.
