Why is it that people blame all the miseries of Afghanistan on the Taliban? People, please be fair and don't be ban-wagon jumpers. Please, for humanity's sake.
Afghanistan was on the road of destruction to begin with. Period. The Taliban were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Afghanistan would have failed even the King had come back in 1989 or 1992 or 1996 or 2002 or today.

To an extent it is true these elections were a failure cuz of threats from the Taliban but that would have only effected the turnout yes ? These elections aren't a fail because of the turnout cuz 47% is sufficient enough, but the fraud and rigging charges that have been laid against the elections are the real point of concern hereOriginally posted by AgnosticPashtana View PostTalal it failed because the ISI(Pakistani) product Taliban threatened people. It's enough that I know, Our time had a home, In your heart..Was a place..But the glass always breaks..

I think that technocrats can work wonders for Afghanistan..Honestly had people seen even a little bit of hope in Karzai they would have braved any threats from the Taliban but the fact that even after 10 years this government continues to pillage through whatever is left of Afghan wealth is a clear Indicator that they don't need threats from Taliban to keep them from going to voteOriginally posted by JasmineVery well said. Afghanistan was on the road to destruction in 1978.
Talal, I think these elections were an epic fail.
Bring the technocrats in, bring in the intellectuals give them the positions let them govern and then we shall see an Afghanistan free of any and all foreign influencesIt's enough that I know, Our time had a home, In your heart..Was a place..But the glass always breaks..

it is the misery of our Afghans that they dont participate in election. majority of people consider election as an American phenomenon, but they dont think that is is however an alternative to make thier share in politics of the country..Originally posted by Son of Mountains View Posti voted for last option....the only solution for development of any country
