  • Why does Pakistan name all its weapons after Afghans?

Not all rihana gullae...just one or two I believe. Remember Pakistan is a new state and doesn't really a set identity or history prior to 1940s. Also they named them after people who conquered India, its a way of sticking it to their arch rivals.

Babar was not Afghan, he was a chughatai turk. In fact mughals were the biggest enemy of pakhtuns. Ghaznavi was a turk as well and Ghori is contentious. Some say the Ghoris are pashtuns (ghorikhel tribe) others believe they are eastern iranian tajiks.

pakistan has not yet produced any heroes, afghans have great histry and great heroes. if you look at the **** history, they have never mentioned those heroes as afghans, but talk about them as muslim rulers of india. So may pakies dont know that they were afghans.

Like what rihana ? We name our weapons mostly based on famous muslim warriors

        Al-Khalid Tank

        Ghauri

        Shaheen

        hatf

        Babur

Burraq ( Pakistan will be the first muslim country to have an indigenous UCAV )

        Pakistan's navy Ships:

        Khyber

        Saif

        Zulfiqar

these are the new ones, i dont know the old ones

But yeah you get the point we look up to the muslim ummah as a whole and we try to honour the great muslim heroes in whatever way we can

Pakistan's next main ICBM, inshallah will be Taimur

And for these other morons, who keep talking trash. The nukes were named ghauri, because India named there's pirthvi, go look up what the names "ghauri" and "pirthvi" stand for

EDIT: Im sorry i thought u said Bacha Khan but no we havent named anything after Ahmed Shah Baba yet and part of the reason for that are poor relations between two countries

And im sorry if i came off as agressive, if you read some of the comments up there you would realise how offensive they were. But yeah as far as naming weapons goes, we honour our heroes regardless of where they are from. Ghauri was a brave muslim, Indians named there nuke Pirthvi so Pakistan decided to name our's as Ghauri for trashing pirthvi

Talal Pakistan named a few of it's weapons after Ahmad Shah Baba.
I believe they call it the Abdali.

Which is his name, Ahmad Shah Baba Abdali.

Pakistan did not want to have a fully long name lol so they took his last name just like tey did of the other Afghans.

I looked it up and it's named after Ahmad Shah Baba.

There is an editorial on why Pakistan chose Afghan names for a few of it's weapons and etc.

I had no idea that was his last name. Abdali is a SRBM, one of the very first ones that Pakistan made.

And Pakistan choose these names so that not only the Indians but the World remembers who these people were.

And yes were taught just two sentences about Ahmad shah Baba and these were; "Ahmad shah Abdali fought the third war against Marahtas at Panipat and Marathas got defeated." But Fakistanis are very careful while they inevitably have to mention Pashtun/afghans. Btw, never in the whole of the text books taught in schools, you will be able to have that information where Ahmad Shah Abdali came from.

^ what do you want them to do ? make students carve out their statues ? They are taught that which can be covered within the curriculum. And dont start an argument here
