  • For Tali lovers and non lovers alike

Sorry I don't mean to patronise any one by opening a sperate thread for one of my post in another thread.

Some food for thought thoug, and I would like to have your expanded views on this.

Here are some one liners and a passage from a book by Mullah Zaeef ex Taliban ambassador to Pakistan 'My Life with the Taliban':

"Tripartite talks between Pakistan, Afghananistan and America are always sabotaged by Pakistan"

Speaking of his conversation with the U.S. ambassador he says "Pakistan, I told him is never an honest mediator and will control and manipulate any talk that it mediate and participate in."

And another interesting comment which I would like you all to head to: "The wolf and the sheep may drink from the same stream, but since the start of the Jihad, ISI extended it roots deep in to Afghanistan like a cancer puts down down roots in to human body. Every ruler of Afghanistan has complained about it but non could get rid of it."

Well this is clear proof that these guys are not agensts of ISI. If He was an agent or any one he knew, he wouldn't have said this about his former "boss". To the contrary, ISI and Pakistan were responsible for his arrest and deportation to Guantano Bay. And they did this to many seniour and junior Taliban.

This makes one thing straight. That Pakistan is the main problem.

I don't think I can make it more simple.

The reason that Pakistan is obsessed with afghanistan is because it beleives that its own survival is dependent on a weak and unstable afghanistan. It beleives that Dawood Khan planned to split the country with india and it beleives if a strong and stable Afghanistan emerges, that its desire to split it with India will be even stronger just because of what happened in the past thirty years. Pakistan beleives that its interests are best served if it has influence in afghansitan and to prevent it from developing. It is preventing women from getting education, and it is preventing any recontruction projects from starting. It is paying gangsters to assasinate afghan leaders it deems dangerious, blowing up and destroying contruction projects, preventing women from going to school and so on and so on.

Mula Zaeefs book is just further proof that Pakistan is a menace to its neighbors.

I want to read the book to get more the spirit of Mullah Zaeff's attitudes.

From the quotations selected, one could agree with Maiwand that Mullah Zaeff is an independent operator. He seems to fearlessly speak whatever truth is necessary.

Probably most of the Taliban groups regard elements of the ISI as far from their best friends after all the hijinks such as handing over these personnel in order to curry favor with the U.S.
[what if, too, to placate Israeli representatives quietly participating too ? After all how often does one hear tel aviv yelling about Pakistan's nuclear capacity? Some deal must have been sealed around 2002]

I’ve come to doubt the existence of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. The fact that Israel seems unworried and that all five of Pakistan’s nuclear tests were set off on a single day are the main reasons for my suspicion. To be thought to possess nuclear weapons is almost as good as actually having them when it comes to deterring India or satisfying the nationalistic passions of the Pakistani people. The United States and China, each for it’s own reasons of state, may have cooperated to create the appearance of Pakistan being a nuclear power, I dont know if these reasons are still valid today.
