Basically Taliban is ISI phenomena. Without support and funding from ISI actions of talibans in afghanistan will come to halt. ISI has exploited the conservative nature of pashtuns and have extracted talibans from them.

Talibanization and tribalism are opposite to each other. Talibans refute pashtun tribalism. In many areas of pakhtunkhwa "chigha parties", small tribal lashkars were formed by locals especially by marwats, mallagoris, dirojens and buneris to counter talibans.

        delusion is for free

the mujhadeen organised themselves into the taliban

again i ask you if not the taliban then what?

what exactly were the mujhadeen going to do or become?

you have already basically admitted that it was not going to become a liberal democracy - the extreme nature of the taliban has been an unfortunate part of afghan society for years, you dont want to admit this so you blame pakistan because its easier.

its afghans who fought as the mujhadeen

its aghans who are and were in the taliban

and its afghans who are responsible for their own actions, no one else but AFGHANS

sure maybe pakistani ISI can give you a gun, but you are humans with intelligence right? so you have a choice of what to do, your people are making this choice and it hurts you, i understand, pakistani's are hurting me too

Ofcourse the talibans in afghanistan that are operating against US are mainly afghans but you seem to be unaware of the fact that large numbers of pashtuns from pakistan also go there after recruited by ISI backed mullahs. My two cousins were talibans had died last year in afghanistan by american bombardments. They had admitted to me that pakistani secret agencies are backing them. They were even once arrested by police for keeping heavy arms and terrorism, but after 3 days they were freed because of intervention of ISI.
We pakistanis had to stop interfering in afghanistan by helping talibans against US.

                Namastay afghanlady,
I dont think that ISI is acting against US with approval of pakistani governament, which has friendly relations with US. Either ISI has become wild and is not in control by pakistani governament or it is operating very secretly.
Any how i agree with realist on the point that these are your own afghans who requests help from ISI and ISI provide it to them.

how can i possibly believe this story, it sounds too stupid to be true

how secret are these "pakistani secret agents" if they admitted they were helping create taliban?

secondly, if this far fetched story were even true do your so called cousins not have a brain of their own?

and finally i thought all pashtuns belong to one nation, so how can there be pakistani pashtuns?

lets be real and honest are, unfortunately there are afghans who are susceptible to the theocratic and xenophobic pull of the taliban, there are also many who suffer because they are not

societal changes must occur where this type of backwardness is not permit-table, but change must come from within and will take time, the US invasion forced afghans to curl into retreat and their old ways where they felt comfortable.

there will come a point where you can no longer blame pakistan for everything and eventually you will look for the problem within.

Realist you don't have to believe anything. However, lucky for us, that doesn't mean its false. Go to any villages in Pashtunkhwa or Afghanistan, and I can guarantee you, you will hear such cases, if not know someone directly. This has been going on since the 1990s.

The fault of Pashtuns were was that they fought someone else's war for thirty years...this doesn't meant that they should go hand in hand and hug pakistan (or for that matter any of the states around it). A state with such a policy that still has no signs of changing can't be supported nor put forward. Pashtuns/Afghans should start thinking in other terms, and certainly outside the context of GHQ.

Mr. Dadfar has no moral basis to state “US support of Pakistan a strategic mistake”. President Karzai was given every support since 2001, today his own brother Ahmed Wali Karzai governor of Kandahar has become a narco-criminal and drug trafficker, his reputation in Afghanistan is too bad. Afghan government is at best corrupt, inefficient and incapable (American and NATO assessment). Mr. Dadfar realized it now, but US ambassador in Kabul sent that cable to Washington months back stating Karzai is not capable to be a strategic partner. And Pakistan on the other hand is a Muslim country, much bigger than Afghanistan and a nuclear power. Ask any American official, as to which is more important, victory in war in Afghanistan or stability in neighboring nuclear Pakistan. The answer is they dont want victory at the cost of Pakistan. The argument goes that if US wins in Afghanistan, but in the process neighbouring Pakistan is severely destabilized endangering its nuclear weapons, that would be a disaster. The US policy is engagement with Pakistan at all levels. And I agree, Pakistan has wisely looked after its interests, what is wrong about it?

Nothing nothing at all. Just we Pashtuns should watch out for our own. They used our lands for their strategic interests..time for us to look out for our own.

I live in the fairy land called reality with a dose of irony. You are welcome to join us...with our gummy bears and magical rides. No really.

I didn't say superpowers will fall in love with me. I am critical of the policy of the superpower and its step-son ->Pakistan. Whether you like it or not the mess and this policy of Pakistan is no better than US. Both are bad, just as Pakistan looked out for itself...Pashtuns should as well.
