Is working for Pashto and Pashtuns in their manifesto or this is your perception?
Secondly would you elaborate if they work only for Pashto and Pashtuns [which is good] then what about the other ethnic groups? If it is a national level party then dont they need to take care of all the ethnicities and their issues and problems?

at the present time there is not a single group or party which can work for betterment of our country. most of the present groups or parties are limitted to certain regoins are group of criminals. hard to see in near future a good political group. Afghan millet has lost his stance due to present leadership.

"Afghan Millat" was trifurcated. One group is being led by Mr.Anwar Ul Haq Ahadi, the other by Engr. Ajmal and the third splinter by the renowned histriographer Mr. Qudratullah Hadad. However Ahadi's faction is popular among the Pashtuns due to his stand for Pakhtuns wellbeing. Ahadi has now developed, an inclination for " Afghan millat" ( state-nationalism), for power politics. It is a pitty that we have no truely Pakhtun nationalist party in Afghanistan.

Are you saying there is not a single national level party in Afghanistan like PPP or PML etc in Pakistan? How sad is this state of affairs. If one of the pre requisites for the stability of a country is absent how do you think Afghanistan can get stable?

Do you consciously think it is sufficient for a party to think only about Pashtuns?

Pashtuns make an absolute majority in Afghanistan but their socio-political status does not correspond to the mark they deserve. They have many adversaries around, who are bent upon to undermine their political and social standing. Once the Tajik Babrak Karmal venomously declared, " whosoever speak to me in Noor mohammad Tarakai' s languge," is my enemy". There is no denying the fact that a strong group is giving preference to " Khurasan" over " Afghanistan". Makhdoom Raheen, the ex. Minister for culture acted in public against the Pakhtuns' interests. A lingual confederacy call the Pakhtuns openly as " aksariyat-e- Be farhang". In such scenario Pakhtuns need to watch and guard their status and interests, which can only be performed through a Pakhtun nationalist party. I wish there were any.

Now if our Pashtuns are sold out what can we do?

It is immaterial who and who is Pakhtun, but who acted like Pakhtun for the interests of the Pakhtuns, is the real issue which matters. In Pakistan, From General Ayub Khan to General Kakar, we had the so-called Pakhtuns on the helm of affair but they all played on " other pitches".

I am of the opinion that the state in which Pashtuns are is due to the fact that they are NOT acting as a majority ethnic group which should own the whole Afghanistan like the Punjabis do about Pakistan [of course minus the exploitation]. As a majority ethnic group of the land if they have no program or manifesto to heal the wounds of poverty and deprivation of Afghans belonging to all ethnicities and religions and they are just after their individualistic interests then it is but natural according to the laws of history what are going through and hence the other ethnic /ideological groups will have the type of feelings which you exemplified in your concerns.

So may I opine that unless Pashtuns have a program for the WHOLE AFGHAN NATION and not just either for Pashtuns or Sunnis [in case some of us think that religion will solve the problem of Afghanistan] , Afghanistan will never have peace ,progress and stability and nor will Pashtuns have a dominant ,effective ,influential ,prosperous and respectable status.

That is why I raised the question: which Afghan party /group is the best.

pir saeb there some parties which could have truely worked. But some of these parties like Hizb-e-islami is busy in terrorism this party has members of many ethnecities. many have mentioned Afghan Millat, but its leaders have never tried to bring it to national level, the leaders did not fought in the election under its banner, they are busy in grabing the positions. at moment the warlords are so strong with international support that no one can step up to farm a party which can work for the betterment of afghans. the truth is we have parties but no leaders.
