well obviously they have to notify them that they are coming to surrender. I don't think its smart to go drive up to local taliban post and expect to be received with hugs. I mean, they are wearing puppet uniforms and driving puppet cars carrying puppet guns.Originally posted by Catya Sher View PostDid the fighters know that these Army people were coming, apparently, if they had the leis [Hawaiian term, I don't know what called in Afgh.] all ready to congratulate them?[SIZE="4"][B][CENTER][URL="www.quranawsunnat.com"]www.quranawsunnat.com

Re Sangar: yeah, I know what you mean!
This used to happen ALL the time during the Soviet occupation. The Afghan Army hated their overlords and nearly 99% were on the side of the Mujahideen. If not 100 percent.
However, I wonder what the percentages may be at this era? No one has really spoken to Afghan soldiers to determine what they REALLY think.
The videos like the one Zarawar posted a few days ago are sheer propaganda.
These videos reveal a very interesting side to the story. That's what I would think most of the Afghan Army feel. But how many are daring enough to take action like this is the question? Maybe the word will get out how nicely they were received and such actions will be imitated across the country.

are you saying that greed doesn't exist, that people would just dump their jobs in order to join the resistance just like that without worrying about their families? Knowing the socio-economic status of most of the residents over there, with the high unemployment rate and poverty, I cannot fathom why someone would quit their job, risking so much, while in return receive so less..Originally posted by Sangar View PostIn case you haven't heard, Taliban don't pay people any wages.
So, the only reasonable explanation is that they are paid more by the taleban.
Let me ask you a question.
Would you leave everything, your family, job(if you have one) and life in holland and go join the taliban?
If this is too personal, don't answer it, i will understand.

The difference between a muslim and a disbeliever is that a muslim is prepared to go on the path of allah and sacrifice everything.
The companions of the prophet muhammad saww in Mekkah were by and large young men. They were from rich families. Some of them died without even having a proper burrial. People sacrificed everything.
Similarly, Afghans have been poor and desperate for decades. People have lost everything. Some have joined the ANA and ANP to get jobs so they can support their families. But even a poor and desperate person with as much Imaan as a mustard seed would not bare the humiliation and horror.
These people do not get paid a penny. Some of them get some benefits and some sort of support for joining the Taliban. But there is no salary or wages. Would it be a lucrative business, everybody would have joined Taliban instead of ANA or ANP.
And about myself? I live in Holland, I don't have a decent job, I got depths I couldn't pay back anytime soon, I'm studying and I have my family that needs me. If I was in Afghanistan under similar circumstances, and I would have been bombed, shot or have my friends and relatives being tortured, killed or raped, I'd sacrifice anything. Just like those cops in this video.
You have to place yourself in somebody else shoes. It is easy to assume that everybody is all about money, and worldly matters. But there is a limit. A criterion that sets the believers apart from the disbelievers.[SIZE="4"][B][CENTER][URL="www.quranawsunnat.com"]www.quranawsunnat.com

So what, Talib boy? It is not like the entire government has surrendered. There are thousands of Taliban who have joined the government. Only foreign alliens and people like you who think Islam doesn't alow political parties fight and kill their own people.
Taliban should join the govt to strengthen it and together with other Afghans kick out all foreigners. It is 21st century only violence is not the only way. Any one with a modicum of intelligence and shred of knowledge would know that there are other ways too other than just violence. Oh Talibs don't know politics and don't believe in political activism...

What about col imam and hamid gul and general aslaam baigh are they Pashtuns?

You didnt answer my question?Originally posted by KandaharyMaseed its a fact that over 95percent of Taliban are Pashtun locals.
What about the Punjabi Sectarian groups such as the Punjabi Taliban who are in big numbers of ghazni?
Are they Pashtuns? Are the big number of Pashtuns in the ISI are they working for Pashtun interests?
Is the Darol Islami Haqqani where your Kandhari born Mullah Omar was educated by Pakistani Islamic teachers, were they teaching him to work for Pashtun Interests?
What are facts? do you have a proven recorded book of all and every talib member with their ethincity?
Arabs probably make more units than the Pashtuns due to their relation with Alqueda, Uzbeks and Tajiks and Chechens are also within their ranks.
In Mohmand a friend of mine told me he saw with his own eyes 2000 chechens as Talibs?
Another friend of mine in Swat told me the masked talibs couldnt even speak Pushto but spoke foreign languages? were they Pashtuns?
You cant just make up your own percentages when you havnt met the public who had to face seeing dead bodies hanged in markets or mingora etc.
Kind Regards
Btw Is Ilyas Kashmiri the Punjabi/Kashmiri Taliban leader a Pashtun?
