  • The Fallacy of Peace Process in Afghanistan

Great research. A bit long but still interesting. Apparently the Afghan establishment is more than happy with the current status quo. Check this article out too. Its about Ghani trying to emulate Daud Khan.

Good read! Ghani is th first president after Doud khan that has weaponized Afghan water against irkon and porkis. Just today he announce the construction of a new dam in Dikondi province.
When I was a kid I used to read Dari/Pashto newspaper which my dad used to get form Afghan store...I still remember one of these newspaper had an interview with Babrak Karmal...the reporter asked Karmal what was his biggest mistake...Karmal answer his biggest mitakse was relying on foreign power. In my opinion this is also Achilles heel of Ghani. Unlike Mullah Omar, Massod and rest he does not have much power base or thugs that can kill in his name.
I think both late Shaheed Doud khan and Ghani makes awesome preimisters.

For the very first in your life I must say you made a smart point. Daud Khan was nuts and ruined our relationship with Pakistan and f*cked up our country, but no one can deny that the guy really tried hard to modernize the country. Ghani when it comes to rebuilding the country is doing a good job. Afghanistan is currently involved in several regional projects such as TAPI, CASA, Chabahar, Lapislazuli Corridor, and so on. Key projects such as Salma Dam, roads, railways, been developed or are about to be.

Not a huge fan of Ghani but I do not think there is a real alternative to him right now.

Flat head Amu Jumper, cut the bs..I know you from your days at Tajikum to Afghan web and Afghan forum when you were burning with your anti-Afghan and Anti-Pashtun rage and now to your servitude to Paki girls in this forum.
As for as late Doud khan, the issue of Durand was almost resolved but your Commie father and his comrades mess things up..Paki enemies could not believe their lack when the criminal PDpa took over. Indeed the Islamist could never gain mass support if it was not for brutality of savage commies.

Either you are really dumb or this is an act. Your spelling and grammar mistakes are too frequent.

Daud Khan was no ideal leader, but please do not insult him by comparing him to a puppet for foreign occupation like Ghani.

Daud was not a prostitute/puppet for foreign occupation and war like Karzai, Abdullah Abdullah, and Ghani.

The Kabul regime establishment maybe happy with status quo but status quo is not happy with them.

            Trump's patience is running thin.

Daud Khan was a power hungry moron who made a deal with the devil to get power that ultimately killed him. Ghani is just a moron who talks like he really has no PhD.

I've got to side with Khushal on this, we're giving Daud Khan TOO much credit. He tried to pull an Amandeep Khan part II and he paid the price.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

We must give Daud Khan due credit. When it comes to building a strong and functional country, he really tried. Under his rule key projects were achieved and also despite his ehtnonationalist tendencies he worked hard to bring harmony between all ethnic groups. Also his rule was "benign" compared to commies, mujahadeens or the Taliban. I think nobody can deny this.

But he is the one who empowered the commies who brought the Soviets and gave the pakis leverage on a silver platter. He was worse than Amandeep whose stupidity was temporary and crushed quickly.

You cant build a functional country when youre working against the psyche of your people. You have to be practical, not insane.
