I don't know if you have watch it yet(i think it's some kind of a family movie, but there's this movie about a mother and her son moving to some huse, where a friendly ghost lives. He becomes the boy's friend. He's played by some famous indian bollywood actor).

But back to the indian drama. I just have thought that, because compared to what my mom did watch(i don't feel like she ever really enjoyed them bollywood movies now) back some years ago, she start watching some indian dramas(i remember she also did watch a comedy show and a indian version of "Tonight show starring jimmy fallon", if you can say that. Never knew the english word for a show starring a host and some famous/interesting people. God, i hated it when they mixed up the english words with their indain language). I think they still have this "white and lovely" thing to their dramas, because all the actors over there were pretty atypical, at least in skin color.

But the thing about them is, that they don't add those cringe special effects and crappy songs/highschool musical dances and are more serious. You know, every time they say something stupid/gay in bollywood movies(i assume it's stupid. Although i can't speak pahsto properly, it's the language i understand the most next to english and specially danish. Then, that's all i can understand) there's always this gong/weird instrument sound. Or those weird head moves they make...oh my god. I know also remember them fight scenes. Jezz, they where fake and gay.

But how did turkish dramas got little big in Kabul? I have heard that before the cold war and maybe little earlier, Turkey supported Afghanistan(maybe not the entire country) and let many afghans, also women, go to school. Could it be because of that?
And are turkish dramas any good/worth wathcing them? I did watch some few scenes of turkish movies. They seemed cringe to me as well, specially one of them having a turkish vcopy of superman. But then, they where also old and Turkey is huge. So it could be made by different companies.
Some Turkish dramas are very good, esp. The Historical, comedic ones...
But most are just like Indian dramas(the filming i am talking about)...

Afghanistan getting classed as "South Asia" is always cringey. its like classing Morroco as European cuz they have aa border with Spain.

Truth be told, Afghanistan is quite unique and disimilar to most other countries. You cant really class it with countries as easily. Tajiks, Hazaras, and other Persian speakers are tied to Iran and Tajikistan as well as Uzbekistan mainly through language. The rest of Afghans have their own unique thing going on. Only Pashtuns are tied to Pakistan. The Turkic races of Afghanistan are tied to central Asian ex soviet states. Although they are probably much mire similar to other Afghans than non-Afghans.

My friends watch it, I don't!
I just don't fancy Turkey's Turkish. During the Mustafa Kemal's reforms, he literally broke(*f**ked) the Turkish language. So now there's no natural flow to the way the people speak..
The other Turkish languages are music to my ears(esp. Uzbek)..

Eventhough i understand what you just said, it does sounds sort of contradictory. How can afghans be unique if pashtuns have ties with pakistan, tajiks hazaras uzbeks has ties with central asia or iran? For the most part pashtuns only have ties with bordering afghan pakistan pashtuns, and the "uniqueness" of afghanistan is found in rural areas, not urban areas, where culture is either persianised or arabised. Afghanistan is only south asian because of political reason, our politicians decided to tie themselves with south asians, now we are south asians. We will always hear about pakis (punjabis) and indians, eventhough we have nothing to do with them, we are much closer to central asians then anywhere else to be honest with you. I am a tajik and pashtun, and both share culltures with central asians (after pakistani pashtuns who themselves are tied with central asia), i can tell you from personal experience. Afghanistan is a very isolated country, tajikstan can actually be seen as a continuation of afghanistan. If we were considered central asians politically, we would not hate pakis and indians wouldnt be trying to claim us, because they have nothing to back their statements.

I meant Afghans are in my experience totally different from Iranians and Pakistanis, two countries directly bording them. I havent met people from other neighboring countries so cant say yet what they are like. But I met of Iranians and Pakistanis. Pakis to me are Indians trying to sell themselves as something else.

I don’t know where most of you have been living but Turkish dramas are hugely popular in the Muslim world knowandays mostly amongst housewives and the like. Most of my female relatives in Pekhawar watch Turkish dramas which have been dubbed into Urdu. I’m guessing in Kabul it’s in Farsi. For most I guess it’s the closest thing to an alternative to the American dramas which can be behayat.

It's a meme based on that Xzibit and Pimp My Ride, because they'd always put different iteractions of gadgets embedded into each other to give everything that "pimped out" effect. That show was really stupid and cringeworthy, but it was interesting to see the level of engineering it took to do all that.

Well, it may be good and very spread in the muslim world, but not all of us. I'm from Kanadahar, that's maybe why i haven't heard almost any of us watching turkish shows.

Yes I think afghans are very unique and this idea of afggand being middle eastern or closely tied with Iran is created because of Western ignorance and the fact that they can't tell the difference between populations. I think afghans are closest to tajikstanis and dardics (I'm talking about chitrali and hunza people) more than anyone else. Pakistan is really out of the question (I'm talking about punjabis) when tying to compare it with Afghanistan
