Like others have pointed out, it's mainly because Pashto language is considered to be remotely derived from a pre-historic language that scholars have termed 'Old Iranian'.

Comparing Pashto to Persian would be like comparing Bosnian to Russian. The modern languages are totally different but considered to be very distantly related.

Culturally speaking i dont think Pashtuns are similar to Iranians/Persians at all. At least not the contemporary cultures of modern Iran and contemporary Pashtuns. They are two different Worlds.

      Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 31 Hadith 2269

Abu Hurairah reports that the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Have you heard of a city a portion of which is within the land and a portion of which lies by the sea?" They said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allaah". He said: The Last Hour will not be established until 70,000 from the offspring of Ishaq (Isaac) attack it. When they come to it, they will alight and will not fight with weapons and nor will they throw any spear. They will say, "There is none which has the right to be worshipped (alone) save Allaah, and Allaah is the Greatest", and one half of it would fall ... and then they will say it a second time, "There is none which has the right to be worshipped (alone) save Allaah, and Allaah is the Greatest", and relief will be granted to them, and they will enter it, and t hey will collecting and dividing the booty when a crier will come to them, saying, "The*Dajjaal*has emerged", so they will leave everything and return.

      Sahih Muslim

Pashtuns/Khorasanis will make a bulk of the army of the Al-Mahdi. Interesting to note that the RasulAllah peace and blessings to him said they are the descendents of Isaac (peace be upon him) while referring to them in another ahadith.

Who do you people trust more?
Who are exactly meant by Khorasanis?

Was the guy that was calling you a pashtunized indic speaking with authority when you came here to vent and started making fun of poor people to make yourself feel better?

There is nothing more pathetic than making fun of poor people to make yourself feel better. The only reason your family is better off is most likely cause your family cooperated with brits.

I am not a scholar of Islam but as a student of history i find the two contradicting hadith very interesting. The hadith about Black standards of Khurasan supporting Imam mehdi was probably forged by some Pro-Abbasid while the one about emergence of Dajjal from Khurasan was probably forged by some Anti-Abbasid. Khurasanis elevated Abbasis to the throne so some thankful and admiring pro-abbasid paid tribute to them by giving them a great role again in end days. While some anti-Abbasid or Anti-Khurasani associated them with the greatest evil of end days.
Wasn't there a hadith about '70 000' jews from Isfahan will come forth with Dajjal?

He is Right. Btw what authority do you have on the subject? What he said has been proven already.

Khorasan just means east or where the sun rises similar to what "Orient: Oriental" means. The Persians referred to what was East of them as Khorasan.

Also I doubt that the term Iran or Iranshahr was used by anyother Aryan groups from Persians. Even Parthians used Aryan so for sure Bactrians, Arachosians etc did not refer to themselves as "Iranian"
From what I've read. Local people in what was Persia called their land "Eran." The name Persia was given to them by outsiders dating back to BG (before the Greeks.) Pahlavi wanted an ethnic neutral name to avoid division in his country.

Where's the contradiction? Please read hadiths carefully and pay attention to the wordings. The hadith clearly says Dajjal "emerges from the east in a land called Khorason." Some narrations of the same hadith just says East. Nothing about being from Khorasan, or even living there.

When the Mahdi and his army take over Istanbul they will be a caller announcing, and i quote the hadith reported by Imam Muslim, "The*Dajjaal has emerged, so they will leave everything and return." Theres that emerged word again.

                      Allahu'Alam.

Well that's the meaning of khorasan.
He asked who was meant by hadeeth .

When did I make fun of poor people? You guys do so. From your posts, it seems you have very little knowledge and are randomly giving one or the other opinion.
