  • What Happened to Honor Code of Taliban?

Needless to say, as a non-Afghan non-Pashtun I’m not very acquainted or familiar with the intricacies of Afghan/Pashtun politics. I can appreciate the original Taliban of Mulla Omar which emerged in the 1990s. They were devout people and Madrassa students of Kandahar who were opposed to modernism and implemented a good Islamic society in their country. But over time Taliban have fragmented and evolved. Now they have been under the toxic influence of Takfiri Arabs from where they adapted tactics like suicide bombing, assassinations, killing civilians including little children, and other barbaric un-Islamic methods. Our ancient Mujahideen were always known for their code of honor and chivalry. They would be absolutely disgusted by the contemporary so-called “Jihadists”. I would like Taliban to return to their old code of honor and to fight the enemy in such a way which inspires people to praise them as heroic and gallant warriors of truth. Afghanistan has a history of armed Islamic uprisings against tyranny. I’m reminded of the uprising of “Sahib-e-Taloqan” Muhammad b. al-Qasim “al-Sufi” (rahmatullah alaih) during the time of the Abbasid oppressor al-Mu’tasim and the uprising of Muhammad b. Ja’far b. Yahya b. Abdullah al-Mahd in Herat, where he and his progeny ruled until the late 3rd century Hijri. These great and eminent Saadaat who came to modern-day Afghanistan were the models of bravery and how to launch an armed uprising or Qiyam against the un-Islamic regimes of the day. Taliban should follow their pattern.

Think about all the Alid uprisings in Khurasan region modern Afghanistan. These were uprisings led by Arab descendants of the Prophet ﷺ such as Imam Yahya b. Zaid (rahmatullah alaih) and the uprising of Abdullah al-Ashtar (son of Imam Nafs-al-Zakiya) based in Kabul. I believe that Taliban should abandon the Pashtun nationalism and fight for the cause of making a pious Fatimi Sayyid as leader. Surely there have to be many pious Saadaat in Afghanistan. We have to continue this ancient movement. As I said earlier, Taliban need to re-evaluate their tactics and leave off the terrorism and killing of civilian, suicide bombing. Taliban should not fight for strategic victory, but should fight for the sake of making Allah happy above all. This was part of their original appeal and magnetism. If they leave that they are nothing more than another of many armed factions that are wrestling for political power.

No, they were students of Sami al Haq of Dar al Uloom Haqqania in Nowshera, a paki Deobandi school under the patronage of Rawalpindi.

      Dont blame it on Arabs.

Taliban were always savages that were indoctrinated, equipped, trained and lead by Pakiland that inflicted huge pain onto already demoralized peoples of Afghanistan.

You're out of touch with reality. The Taliban does what Rawalpindi tells them to do. Those that dissent end up like Baradar, Mansour, Rahman, Mahsud etc

I didn’t blame all Arabs, only the Takfiri types like al-Qa’ida, Ayman al-Zawahiri, who had a bad influence on the Taliban resistance to NATO. Even most Arabs hate those Takfiris that are inspired by the ideology of Sayyid Qutb and the violent methods of Zarqawi, which gave birth to such a barbaric cult like Daesh, which at present in wreaking havoc in Afghanistan. At least Taliban are to be commended for fighting Daesh despite all their other shortcomings of engaging in terrorist tactics themselves.

Also the Pakistani State did not initially support Taliban. Initially Pakistani State was more in favor of Hekmatyar's Hezb-e-Islami faction but switched to Taliban when Taliban became more popular and successful

            Welcome to the forum

Before you waste any more time with this guy, let me just introduce the bastion of all retardation that is known as "Friends of Baloch".

He is incredibly vile and racist towards anything he perceives to be Punjabi. In fact, he considers Punjabis to be "Dalits", Dravidians and not even a proper ethnic group, language or culture. To give you an idea, his last reference to Pakistan in the other thread was "black@ss Dravidian pakiland"

You will notice that he has a good grasp of Hindi and loves to promote and expand Dravidian identity using debunked theories like Aryan migration. In his mind, Dravidians created everything and were the OGs of Pashtun and Baluchi lands too.

Thirdly, he claims to have spent the last 20 years being harassed by Pakistanis and innocently caught up in Pak topics on the internet. But you can clearly see his obsession with Pakistan, which is literally the only thing he rants about, regardless of the topic.

Just a heads up. He is not friends of Baloch. I doubt he has any friends at all.

            Enjoy and welcome again.

I think by "they should abandon Pashtun nationalism" you mean they should become Daesh , and by "they should fight for cause of a Fatimi Syed", you mean they should fight under banner of Abu Bakar Baghdadi who is a Fatimi Syed. I have seen Daesh supporters commenting that Taliban are not good Muslims as they are Pashtun nationalists and that they are on wrong path by not fighting under their caliph Abu Bakar Baghdadi with global "Jihad".

I see. Is he himself a Baloch or simply an Indian who is supporting the Baloch separatists out of enmity for Pakistan? His ID is "Friends of Baloch" so perhaps he himself is not a Baloch.

It is confusing that he bashes Punjabis for supposedly being Dravidian when he promotes Dravidian identity. I think the only Dravidian language speakers in Pakistan are the Brahoi.

Not at all. I am opposed to Daesh and even wrote in this thread that I praise the Taliban for fighting against Daesh. I was criticizing Taliban for behaving like Daesh in adapting terrorist tactics, so how can you think I am a Daesh supporter (God forbid)?

Dar al Uloom Haqqania is where the Taliban has it's roots. It was always a protege of Rawalpindi from it's inception.

So called IS in Afghanistan are mostly ex Taliban that refused to accept Mansour as Mullah Omar's replacement and were mad that Omar's death had been hidden from them for years by Rawalpindi before it was finally revealed. Others formally belonged to the IMU. Taliban is fighting them over power struggle, nothing else.

Takfiris as you say AQ have been in Afghanistan long before suicide bombers. Suicide bombers made its presence with NATO invasion.

Also suicide attacks is much older than takfiris.

The Taliban are much older than the Paki state. British India has written extensively about Taliban.

your hatred for Paki is blind with no intellectual reason.

Suicide attacks were introduced into Afghanistan by the Takfiri Arabs, who themselves seemed to have gotten it from Hamas and Hizbullah. Whatever the origin of this tactic, it is terrorism and totally un-Islamic. It is not befitting for a movement like Taliban, which claim to be Islamic, to adapt such Kamikaze methods or to kill civilians. Suicide is strictly forbidden in our Religion, the suicidal goes straight to Hell. Killing civilians and innocent bystanders is even worse. Taliban insurgency is also guilty of assassinating Ulema who do not agree with them and attacking Shi’ite places of worship.

Not all the Arab mujahideen who came to Afghanistan to fight the Soviets were Takfiris, but many of them were, like Abdullah Azzam and Bin Laden. They initially brought their ideology into Afghanistan, but now the Taliban have also adapted their methods and tactics.

I believe that Taliban should never compromise on principles. They should not engage in opium/drug trafficking; they should inspire an armed uprising among ordinary Afghan Muslims against NATO through bravery and Islamic heroism. They should not threaten non-Pashtun ethnic minorities, such as the Hazara.

Maulana Sami-ul-Haq may be the ideological founder of the Taliban, but at present he doesn't seem to have much sway over the various Taliban factions. I myself don't like the Pakistani military establishment because I view them as having betrayed Islam and simply used Islamic slogans and movements for their own selfish interests. Now the military establishment is actually becoming increasingly anti-Islamic. But that doesn't mean I don't like genuine Islamic leaders who are sincere to our Religion like Maulana Sami-ul-Haq. I appreciate Maulana Sami and the tradition he hails from.

I myself come from that tradition that is traced back to the movement of Shah Isma'il Shaheed of Delhi and Sayyid Ahmad of Rae Bareilly. This was the golden Islamic movement which is our model. Regrettably, narrow-minded Pathan tribesmen betrayed these great Mujahideen resulting in their martyrdom at the hands of the Sikh barbarians at Balakot. Those tribesmen betrayed the cause of Islam and Tawhid. After this we realized that we cannot blindly trust the Afghan tribesmen because despite their turbans and long beards they are not very grounded in Islamic ideology and easily bought and sold by various interests.
