BAMYAN CITY (PAN): Sponsored by a top Iraqi Shiite leader, Ayatullah Sistani, a mass-marriage ceremony involving 50 young couples was held in central Bamyan province on Sunday, officials said.
The ceremony was organised in the Yakawlang district.
"With such programmes, we want to help those young people who can not afford their marriages," said a representative of Ayatullah Sistani's office, Razaie.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News each couple was given 25,000 afghanis provided by the Sistani's office.
The Yakawlang district chief, Muhammad Nasir Fayaz, said most of the couples were of the view that it was impossible for them to enter the wedlock in next two to three years if they had not participated in the mass marriage ceremony.
It was for the third time that such programme was organised in the district, he added.

Arabs have always donated, whether it's the Mujahideen groups (prior to 2001) or the current regime. Nothing new..

Iran is spreading Shi'ism and Saudi Arabia is spreading Sunni Islam.

I hope more Sunnis invest in spreading Islam in Afghanistan. We need to stop the Shi'ites and Secularists from brainwashing our youth.

When it comes to diplomacy, there is no such thing as evil, good, bad and enemy. All countries rely on each other and work with each other based on specific interests. There are no emotions or what so ever involved in international level diplomacy.
We are going to remain the slaughter sheep of West/East and anyone else, unless we give each other a hand to unite under one banner one Kalima. Most of the aid given to Afghanistan is in return for us doing them favors. In saudi's case, they want to aid us because we are right next to Iran, and Iran and Saudi are religious rivals. Saudi knows that Afghans are reliable fighters and could be a great barrier for Iran. Saudi didn't aid us based on the Sunnah love they have for us or they care about any Afghan that gets torn apart by a NATO bomb. In fact, they don't even care about their own Arabs in Palestine.
