  • King Amanullah Khan Day

Today , 19th August, is "King Amanullah Khan day" which is celebrated by name of Afghanistan Independence Day.

Afghanistani nationalists and Amanullah-Khanis dont even know what exactly were the details of the peace treaty of Rawalpindi, 8 August 1919, which they celebrate as "Independence day" .The treaty gave the Afghans the right to conduct their own foreign affairs as a fully independent state. But the Durand line was reaffirmed as the political boundary separating Afghanistan from the British India. Yet they lie and say that Amir Abdur Rahman, the grandfather of Amanullah, could not understand English and was tricked. Durand line was affirmed again in 1921. Shah Wali Khan, Afghan legation in London, reaffirmed the 1921 treaty in 1930 and Afghanistan agreed in these treaties that it wont interfere in North-West Frontier......thats why when Afghanistan started shouting Pashtunistan, JawaharLal Nehru of Congress Party sharply told them that Afghanistan should not poke its nose in "the internal matters" of India.

As usual Samandri sahib your posts deserve nothing but praises.

Afghans are full of c rap. Our people are uneducated and they have been brainwashed by this s tupid nationalist BS. All this Loy Afghanistan nonsense has brought us nothing but misery and pain.

Regarding Amanullah Khan, I have mixed feelings. I respect him for trying to modernize our country but at the same time I despise him fro trying to Westernize it. I guess back then Westernization and Modernization were the same thing for many people.

The reason why many Afghans, including Pashtun nationalists, celebrate Amanullah Khan is because for almost 100 years they were spoonfed with lies and propaganda.

People are in constant cognitive dissonance. They celebrate defeat of communists and Soviets but they also pride themselves for having a secular fascist king like Amanullah Khan.

People want to abolish Durand Line and whant unity between Pashtuns but they also celebrate a king who cemented the deal and backstabbed our brothers on the other side of Durand line.

That's why I try to avoid talking politics and history with Afghans because it's like talking to a donkey's arse. It's useless.

This day is no longer a big deal in Afghanistan like it was back in the day. Many mullahs talk bad about him and Northern people never liked him, they are busy praising their own Amanullah Khan which is Masoud.

Amanullah Khan people are decaying. The only thing they could do against the reburying of Kalakani was manipulate Dostum into staging some kind of protest.

Many people to this day believe that disco dancing, booze binging, skirt wearing equates to modernization. The false perception comes from the orientalist view point. Other people think that it equates to democratization. That false perception is "fill in the blank cause no one has written about it yet" view point.

Point being both sides look at the other with false perceptions.

Afghans are confused people by nature. They praise, love and hate everyone. In my own family I know plenty of people who support Mujahedeens but at the same time they call Dr Najeeb, a well known atheist, "shaheed". Its just so frustrating and s tupid that I don't even know how to deal with it lol

People tend to believe that "democratization", "Westernization" and "modernization" are the same thing. Actually this was true until few decades ago, when the West emerged as the solely winner of the Cold War. After all the West was the first civilization to modernize so they had some sort of "monopoly" over what was "modern" and what was not. Back then, Western discurse was quite easy: you want to live as good as I do? Great, adopt my values, my political and economic system, allow my corporations to work in your country and everything gonna be great.

Now we have witnessed that there is a huge difference between all those things. You don't need to Westernize in order to have a good live. GCC adopted Western capitalism and modernized in a matter of four decades (the same process took three centuries in the West, that goes for all those Westerner morons who seriously believe Middle Eastern people can't change, huh!) but most of their societies rejected most of Western values, Western democracy. For almost one century Turkey adopted Western democracy, Western values but it didn't fully modernize. It was only when AKP took over when Turkey became a regional power. At the same time Turks have started a process of "re-islamization" and "de-westernization".

Basically now we have finally realized that modernization (modern infrastructures, modern technology, educated populations, science, medicine, advanced armies, etc) can be achieved without Westernizing. Only few r etarded morons like Karachi and Iranian white wannabes still believe that having loose women spreading their legs or having gay parades are the only way to become "modern". They are coconuts suffering from inferiority complex.

True. Some people in West eat feces and have sex with dogs. Some Morons unfortunately think whatever Westernes do must be the correct human behavior and there can be no other way of living.

Cultural wise Eastern societies are better. There is no doubt for me, though someone can accuse me of being biased, because of upbringing and cultural ties, but I live among westerners, so I see both sides. Eastern cultures are built upon good values. The Muslim world doesn't need to sell its core values to get richer/developed/technologically advanced.

Couldn't have put it better.Modernity and Western culture are two different entities and should not be mixed.
