Afghan And Pakistani Officials Meet Over Border Clashes

Officials from both sides of the border discussed the heightened tensions along the Durand Line and said clashes are not in the interests of either country

Afghan and Pakistani border forces met in Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province on Friday evening to discuss the security situation - an hour after clashes stopped following a ceasefire.
This came after border forces opened fire on each other across the Durand Line after Afghan authorities accused Pakistani officials of having breached their territory.
At the meeting, a number of Pakistani officers raised their concerns over the heightened tension between Afghan and Pakistani border forces in recent months and said this was not in the best interests of either country.
Kandahar Police Chief Lieutenant Gen. Abdul Raziq, who chaired the Afghan delegation at the meeting, warned that they are monitoring Pakistani forces movements and that Afghan security forces will respond to any intervention against Afghan territory.
“Our security forces have been busy fighting terrorists in recent years, but I warn you that your forces should not use the situation for their own benefit. We will stand against any personal or group intervention,” he said.
Raziq also accused Pakistani forces of entering Afghan territory and said such moves are against international laws.
“Both countries are Muslim and we are neighbors, so I urge you that we should not do anything against the laws. Your moves are obvious interventions in our affairs and after this any actions against the laws should not be repeated,” said Raziq.
Pakistan forces meanwhile accused Afghan soldiers of crossing over the border and occupying Pakistani soldiers’ strongholds.
“Afghan security forces have crossed an international border and came towards our side of the divided village and they occupied the positions over there. So we took it seriously because it is threatening the sovereignty of the neighboring country and a Muslim country,” said General Nadim, a Pakistani military official.
Nadim said tensions between Afghan and Pakistani border forces are bad for both countries.
Meanwhile, Afghan border soldiers also warned that they will stand against any move by Pakistan's military.
“I will defend my country until the last drop of blood remains in my body. I will not allow any group or country to intervene in my country,” Gul Ahmad, a border soldier said.
According to Kandahar police, the clash between Afghan and Pakistani forces started on Friday when Pakistani forces entered Afghan territory.
Four Afghan soldiers along with two civilians and nine Pakistani soldiers were killed in the clash and nearly 80 others were wounded from both sides.

I just want to clarify that the claims from Afghan side were true. And expose the blatant lies being told to the public by Pakistani establishment. In Pakistani forum we see several members shouting and telling the rest that the Pakistani army completely destroyed the Afghan outposts and the Afghan army fled the scene, and several hundredth Afghan soldiers were killed... What I like about the Afghan media that they don't tell a blatant lie. Every media is trying to showcase the situation from their perspective, but the Pakistani media is the only one who directly will brainwash people with their blatant lies. And for the people don't believe this; there is an actual video of them discussing and this is directly from the Pakistani military itself.
What I also liked was that Raziq said that we admit you Pakistanis have far superior numbers and superior weapons, but no matter what, we will not let anyone disgrace our nation.

One Civilian Killed In Cross-Durand Line Shelling By Pakistan

Nangarhar residents and officials say rockets were fired off along the Durand Line into Afghanistan on Friday night, killing at least one civilian.

At least one civilian was killed and two others were wounded as rockets landed in areas along the Durand Line in Nangarhar province on Friday evening, local officials confirmed on Saturday.
The rocket shelling by Pakistani military continued for many hours, said Noor Jahan, the Chief of Staff of the first Regiment of Border Police.
“Pakistan is training terrorists. Terrorists are living there [in Pakistan]. This is obvious for the entire world. We are not doing this and we are not training terrorists. We defend the country with our hearts and souls. We have sacrificed and we will continue our sacrifices,” Jahan said.
Local officials in Nangarhar said the shelling by Pakistan has inflicted heavy damage to businessmen in the area, especially as vehicles have been destroyed.
Sarfiraz, a driver and witness to the shelling reportedly by Pakistan, said he witnessed the firing of rockets by Pakistan which continued for many hours.
“The rocket firing started at seven in the evening and the first rocket landed on a hillside. Then another rocket landed on a vehicle and killed its driver,” Sarfiraz said.
“We are tired of this. Government is not doing anything in this respect. The rocket shelling by Pakistan continues. We have to stand against Pakistan and respond to this,” said Juma Gul, a resident of Muhmand Dara district in Nangarhar where the rockets landed.
Cross Durand Line incursions by Pakistan started in 2011. Afghans living in areas along the de facto border have suffered the most from these rocket attacks.
Afghan government has on many occasions asked Pakistan to end the shelling however it has failed to do so.

The next article is regards to the people who have put the Pakistani military in a pedestal. What kind of cowards will start shelling civilians... One thing is to have a border skirmish soldier against soldier, but it is a new low when the military start shelling civilians just because they got a humiliating defeat in a border skirmish at a different location. At least have the guts to fight the military instead.

And some Pakistanis write that their soldiers aren't cowards... I admit that the ANA is an unprofessional army and many other things, but one thing is for certain, they fearlessly fight for their cause, even if the enemy is far superior.

Afghan media is by far one of the best in that region. Afghan media is extremely critical on government, army and warlords. Did you know that Iranians love ToloNews? Do you know why? Because our media is much better and more reliable than Iranian media which is pure propaganda. Pakistan Media is pure propaganda for retarded Pakis. No wonder Cyril Almeida was censured by army after saying the obvious regarding their evil role in terrorism. Disgusting country.

Great representation of indiots. They're probably laughing right now. Afghanistan is a basket case that could never fight successfully against Pakistan, and Pakistanis have simply forgotten about Indiot Occupied Kashmir.

Worst part is, indiots (read: indics) won't even bare any brunt. It's those by the Durand line that will. Even worse is that the guys in Afghanistan are probably under India's payroll (of 20rs... indiots can't afford much more).

Chest thumping Afghans, who seem to want to fight Pakistan, get a sizeable portion of the blame.

I suspect the yahoos in ANA simply enjoy the thrill of fighting , rather than fighting for any great cause. Pakistani soldiers on the other hand are indeed not daring and are salary-men , their prayers are about not dying in battle field. But discipline , organization and superior weaponry always win........Professional and disciplined army of Pakistan will always have upper hand over Kaliwalan of ANA in regular battles...

About Pakistani nationalists, they will understandably vilify Afghans and Afghanistan but the Paki army is not so innocent in this incident. Media is reporting that flag talks were going on between boder forces of Afghanistan and Pakistan for last ten days over conducting census in the disputed village which lies on border and is split between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Seeing that Afghanistan is not agreeing to it, the Pakistani armed forces decided to go on with census without consent of Afghanistan. They sent the team at late night 3:00 AM obviously to test the response of Afghan forces (who conducts census at 3:00 AM?)......this escalated into the exchange of fire......Pakistani nationalists dont want to discuss or admit it, but the real issue is not census team this and that, the real issue is disputed nature of Durand line which is undemarcated at many points which always leads to border clashes between two.
do you have a source for the fact that it was 3 am? so far I've been thinking it was Afghanistans fault but that would completely change my stance if its true

Well pakistan military may be anything...But thanks GOD they are here ...ANA may be might , strong and bravest but Taliban are roaming the cities while controlling more than 50% of the land..
TTP can't openly move around and capturing cities in Pakistan and pushed back to Afghanistan.
I think most of the Pakistanis are OK with there army as they are successful in maintaining peace..
While ANA were busy in Killing civilians on border " Qala-i-Zal district of Kunduz falls to Taliban "
