For those of you who don't know, IJT attacked the program of Pakhtun cultural day on 21st march in Punjab university and according to eye witnesses they chanted "haram" haram" when Attan was going on . Jumat-i-Islami leader Liaqat Baloch said in live call that if "Raqs o Saroor " (his choice of word for Attan) goes on in university then clashes are bound to happen (referring to the violent clashes that ensued between IJT and PEDM after Attan was disrupted.....on social media, official handler of IJT is using word "Pashtun goons" did this and that even though big chunk of their members are themeselves Pashtuns....and in response to Pakhtun cultural day, they started tweeting about Pakistani zindabad, jeevay jeevay, Pakistan ka matlab kya and other such watan-parast tweets...Even Taliban did not ban Attan and do Attan yet JI has problems with Attan? It's because they are phony islamists and in reality they are ultra Pakistanists and watan-parast who see expression of Pashtun cultural Iidentity as threat to Pakistan...Pakhtuns of JI were the only ones who opposed renaming of NWFP even though there was nothing unislamic about it.....Zahid Hamid buffoon also belong to the same catagory and is invited by IJT in their programs...Accursed JI is not producing any aalim or scholar

Jamat-e-shaitani have successfully brainwashed millions of Muslims. Many think their cheap imitation of Marxism is 'Islamism'. They are far more dangerous to Muslims than their mere opposition to Attan dance.
Besides, celebrating Zoroastrian new year is kufr and shirk. And this isn't a Jamati opinion. For the past 1000 years all Muslim jurists in Central and South Asia have prohibited celebration of non-Muslim festivals.
Those who believe otherwise are obviously involved in historic revisionism.Originally posted by FirdousiNever talk with Afghans about politics. All their political knowledge is limited to conspiracy theories, political demonization and contradictions. No logic, no reason.

It's not as if they were jumping over fires and were observing Zoarastrian rituals.......in fact not in a single statement , JI/IJT is talking about Nowruz.....and what exactly is celebrated in Nowruz of Tajiks and others, I am not aware of....if its some thing immoral or dangerous to humanity then I will agree with you...but in my personal opinion its wahabism which is the path of khawarij and destructionLast edited by Samandri; 03-24-2017, 02:43 PM.

When Islam became the religion of central and South Asia, celebration of Zoroastrian religious festivals were banned. No scholar of Islam ever said that you can celebrate it as long as you don't jump over fire.Originally posted by Samandri View PostIt's not as if they were jumping over fires and were observing Zoarastrian rituals.......in fact not in a single statement , JI/IJT is talking about Nowruz.....and what exactly is celebrated in Nowruz of Tajiks and others, I am not aware of....if its some thing immoral or dangerous to humanity then I will agree with you...but in my personal opinion its wahabism which is the path of khawarij and destruction
Besides, mister Deenbandi! According to your precious Tablighi jamaat and other fellow deenbandis celebrating Nawroz is kufr and haram. They cite Mullah Ali Qari Al Hanafi. If it was banned immediately after Islamic conquest then how it has strongely survived in pan-iranic world? even Kurds celebrate it.....if pre-islamic celebrations and traditions are Kufr then performing Attan is also Kufr as it has pagan roots. Naway kaal festivals doesn't involve any "kufriya" and shirk activities, if it does then do enlighten me....a big chunk of our names are Persian names of pre-islamic times (khusru, rustam, sohrab, Pervez etc) , what about that?......we have children stories which are based on pre-islamic Persian mythology like Pari and dev characters ...those children stories are also kufr?....Originally posted by Shamlawar Khurasani View PostWhen Islam became the religion of central and South Asia, celebration of Zoroastrian religious festivals were banned. Before Islam people use to drink alcohol. When Islam came it was banned. Still people are drinking alcohol today in most muslim countries. Does that mean drinking alcohol is fine?Originally posted by Samandri View PostIf it was banned immediately after Islamic conquest then how it has strongely survived in pan-iranic world? even Kurds celebrate it.....if pre-islamic celebrations and traditions are Kufr then performing Attan is also Kufr as it has pagan roots. There are specific rulings from the time of Prophet Muhammad sal allahu alayhi wasalam about RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS. Nawroz was a RELIGIOUS festival. That's why it was banned. Likewise, here in Europe where I live, we don't participate in Christmas festivities and other RELIGIOUS customs of the mushrikeen.
This is an issue of aqeedah and fiqh. Somethings are pre-Islamic but not religious in nature or don't have any shirky aspects. Other pre-islamic stuff contain shirk. For example: believing that the son of god was born on 25th of December is shirk and kufr. There are similar theological reasons for Zoroastrian festival of nawroz. That's why Muslims aren't supposed to participate.
A number of Muslim scholars have said that if celebrating the arrival of spring is your culture and custom, you can do it without committing any sin. For example, we have a festival of agriculture. People can attend all sorts of festivities to welcome spring.
All of that can be done without specific signs and aspects of Zoroastrianism like calling it 'Nawroz' or serving food that use to be consumed by zoroastrians for religious reasons.
You have to make a distinction between what is specific to a particular belief system which against Islam and general stuff.
There are allot of stuff we have learned and adopted from non-Muslim cultures and traditions. Everything that isn't religious and doesn't contain anything haram is okay to practice.
But the reason why Nawroz is being revived is because it is done to erase islamic identity of people. That's why the communist government in Afghanistan was so fanatic in promoting Nawroz. Most Pashtuns who didn't even know what Nawroz is suddenly started doing this after seeing propaganda on tv.
Now people act like they have been practicing this for centuries.Originally posted by FirdousiNever talk with Afghans about politics. All their political knowledge is limited to conspiracy theories, political demonization and contradictions. No logic, no reason.

You Seem like One of those people who would like to Arabize the entire World....keep Islam and Arabi separte....we Dont have to live like Arabs do in the deserts just because we adhere to Islam....Islam is our Faith in God....Zoroastrian ism is our historie past...this is somethings we must not forget....Originally posted by Shamlawar Khurasani View PostBefore Islam people use to drink alcohol. I Dont see what could be wrong by celebrating Nowroz even if IT was originallly Zoroastrian Holly Day...
What you say is speaking Pashto also a kuffer? Should we start dressing like Arabs too? Copy Arabs to the Last detail?
I like Islam and things IT promote but some people take IT way too far....to the point they start worshipping Arabs...and disown their own identifies, cultures, etc. To be follower to the Arab...
Personally I think its a great shame how many unique cultures and language were destroyed by Arabs....luckily we are one of few who manage to survive and not lose IT all...
Also I Dont like how Arabs take Credit for achievements of other Races simply cuz they were Muslims...for example the Golden Age of Islam is fully credited to Arabs, when in reality Arabs contributed very little, and most of the accomplishements were done by non Arabs such as Persians, Moors, etc.Last edited by Kabulistan; 03-25-2017, 12:22 AM.

Everything else aside , Nawroz is not commonly celebrated among Pashtuns in KP.Maybe some events are held here and there , but as a whole it is not celebrated. Any one disagree?
In fact , I was of the opinion that even the Pashtuns of Afghanistan do not celebrate this festival.I associated it with Iranians and Tajiks,Farsiwans.

Some do some not, but nobody is making a big fuss out of nawruz like paki do. In afghanistan you do have a lot of discussion weather to celebrate it or not.Originally posted by toughpashtun View PostEverything else aside , Nawroz is not commonly celebrated among Pashtuns in KP.Maybe some events are held here and there , but as a whole it is not celebrated. Each cultural tradition has to start somewhere, Nawroz started in what is now Balkh province and spread out in central asia. its a celebration for all now, like christmas and decorating christmas tree what was a german pagan tradition but now every Europena celebrates it.
People need to chill and focus on biger issues, like economical and cultural stagnation that is happening in the region.

In pre-Islamic Persia people use to eat haft meewa and celebrate Nawroz. But they also use to cut genticals of boys and keep them as sex slaves. Even today many people enjoy haft meewa and enjoy sex with little boys in Afghanistan.Originally posted by UnknownUser View Postaft mewa is so deliciious....why would Allah be against such a pleasure?...Lets be honest...No One is gonna turn into a Zoroastrian for celebrating nawroz....that religion died Long time ago....if naoroz survive then IT means its an occasion people liked very much and doesnt Go aginst Islam...
Islam is not a religion against enjoyment. It is spirituality, morality and law. Some aspects of life that may seem harmless and joyful may be against Islam.
Just because people enjoy something it doesn't mean it must be halal.Originally posted by FirdousiNever talk with Afghans about politics. All their political knowledge is limited to conspiracy theories, political demonization and contradictions. No logic, no reason.
