• Warlord Zardad Faryadi

I just came to know that probably the most notorious warlord of the 1990s Afghan civil war era, Zardad Faryadi aka Faryadi Sarwar Zardad has been released from a UK prison in Dec 2016 and returned to Afghanistan.

Speaking from what I know , this man's brutality was unmatched even among the warlords and commanders of his time.He was part of Hekmatyar's Hezb Islami and controlled a stretch of the road from Kabul to Jalalabad , in the Sarobi area.He would loot and torture the passengers passing through the area.My Afghan friends particularly from that region will know more.

He fled to the U.K after Taliban takeover. British authorities arrested him and after a trying him for his war crimes , he was jailed for ten years. In December 2016 he was deported back to Afghanistan.
He has expressed regret over his role in the civil war and is ready to face court again and be punished for his crimes.
He has his supporters too, many of whom are jubilant to have him back among themselves.
Although fear was expressed that Zardad may retaliate against those who bore witness against him in the UK court, he himself has claimed that he will not harm anyone.

this guy had a human dog.
he had a man on leash and locked in basement all the time.
whenever zardad would have someone suffer he would through him to th basement to be attacked and bitten by his human dog.
zardad should face justice once and for all.

This story about Zardad's dog is very well-known and popular.A man named Abdullah Shah from Paghman was believed to be this 'dog'.Abdullah Shah has already been executed in 2004 by the Afghan government.
In two of his recent interviews after returning to Afghanistan, Zardad, while confessing to his crimes in general , has denied any links with Abdullah Shah and said that all these stories about this 'dog' are false and fabricated.

Akbar , how sure are you about the authenticity of Zardad's dog?

Zardad is in No way any worse than Ahmad Masoud, Hekmatyar, Sayyaf, Mazari or any other warlord involved in the civil war.

Only reason why he was punished was because he is stupid. The smart ones are held in high esteem and regarded as heroes. The dumb ones are made to apologize.

Zardad was not as high up in command as the other names you mentioned, he was under Hekmatyar. So in the larger picture, he did not have much role in causing the destruction. But , on a lower level , his treatment of opponents was horrible and probably the worst according to what I have heard(which may or may not be true).

Shamlawar Khurasani , is the story about his dog true?

zardad and his cousins were controlling the areas between surobi and laghman.
the ones escaped from him told what they witnessed.

To me all the mujahideen stopped being mujahideen when the communist regime collapsed in 1992 and they started killing each other like dogs. Zardad was just one moron, one more among many others. I bet there were some even worse than him.

I must point out I had a huge love for Massoud, due to my own ethnic background I guess and because back then he was the less bad option.

Massoud, Rabbani, Najeeb, Daud Khan,.. all of them are gone. Its time to move on. Current fake Mujahideen have created a lucrative business around Massouds figure which I find disgusting. This is a huge problem among Muslims: still stuck in past grievances instead of focusing in forgiving and cooperating.

To be honest, I don't know much about him but as Shamlawar pointed out he might have been singled out because he was not that clever. Some stories about him seem exagerrated though.

He has already served 10 years in prison and is willing to be punished by the law if found guilty. There are probably people worse than him raoming around free.

Justice needs to be served and we need to get over the past.

The people who were with him and met him told me it's true. I have no reason to believe his own kinsmen would lie about him.

Those mujahideen really did fall from their high moral ground when they started fighting among themselves.

Saw this stinky ******* once in Kabul jalalalabad's highway once. I was too young to know who he was but I still remember his stink.
