Aziz admits Pakistan housing Afghan Taliban leaders - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

The question is, both terrorist organisations enjoy support from both countries. The chaos in both countries is giving ISIS leeway into our territory. So why can't Afghanistan and Pakistan come together and strike a deal? Exchange per say, Afghan Taliban for TTP?

Well recent developments like putting Hafiz Saeed under arrest, or Nawaz Sharif pushing to get other anti-Indian groups arrested makes me think that there's a portion of Pakistan govt that doesn't want Afghanistan to collapse or India to be hostile to Pakistan. I agree that we haven't fully abandoned strategic depth but we haven't been able to build a counter narrative to extremism. If we can't provide a counter narrative to armed Jihad we'll always be stuck here.

Man you are missing the point here: Pakistan is a dysfunctional failed state. You lack of proper foreign or economic policies. All your country is limited to CPEC and strategic depth. One day you put a famous terrorist under house arrest. The other you arrest Taliban officials for holding talks with the Afghan government.

Even war-torn devasted country like afghanistan has a clear policy.

You Pakistanis had your opportunity when Ghani got into the office. He seriously tried to make peace with you guys. YOU FAILED TO DELIVER YOUR PROMISES.. Peace talks with Pakistan are off the table. Best option is to create a safe zone for the Taliban leadership in Afghanistan and engage direct talks with them. Zakhiwal said few weeks ago that the Afghan government is ready for talks without pre-conditions. General Raziq talked about a safe zone for talibs. Its time for peace and let the Pakistanis burn in hell.

Your kaffir government is the most unmoral entity in the world.Blame your army and your "intelligence" agencies for the mess they created. Seriously you deserve it.
Yes exactly. Who are these "100 militants" the stinking 'pindi wala' have claimed to have killed? Why hadnt these people been arrested by the police long before if they were already known? It's all nothing but a lie fed to the millions of stinking, uneducated, gullible pakis.

The bombing of the shrine in Sindh is a terrible crime anyway.

I dont know anything about this place 'Sehwan' but i doubt the people from there are very "paki". I imagine they are mostly poor, ordinary Sindhis without any voice in the politics of Pakiland.

Attacking them is evil. They have nothing to do with the criminals of Rawalpindi and Punjab.

Do you know what I find hilarious the most? Afghanistan is a poor resourceless country. We can't even control our territory. But for some reason most of these retarded Pakis seriously believe we have the capability to strike a shrine that its literally hundreds of km away from our border.

Check it out. Its hilarious to see them barking lol

Not even 5 minutes into skim reading these posts and the stench of pakiness is already too nauseating to bear so i had to stop.

What an absolutely grotesque sh** hole of puny 'pindi walas' that forum is.

Imagine the terrible smell of these farted up little pakis sweating buckets at home while shouting out loud and typing all of this deranged nonsense.

          Pakis.. what a joke.

Zarb e Azb was against the bad Taliban aka TTP but good Taliban were spared. Pakistan is waiting for NATO/USA to leave and it is playing a waiting game thats whg they don't want to damage their relations with Afghan Taliban as much as possible despite US pressure because they ultimately think Afghan Taliban will come back to power once foreign troops withdraw and will resume the strategic depth doctrine eventhough Pak authorities are saying they have abondoned strategic depth.
Afghanistan is a landlocked resourceless country . Someone has always had some strategic depth. The Brits used to pay the Kabul King in exchange for foreign policy control and when they left India, Kabul switched to the Soviets who started their strategic depth in exchange for Aid. When Daud wanted to break free and sign agreements with Pakistan and Saudi, they activated their assets and killed him and eventually invaded. Today the Americans have strategic depth in exchange for funding.

The question is whose strategic depth is most beneficial because Afghanistan is not a self sustaining country.

too many contradictions and lies which you have made yourself to be true.
.no sanctuaries in Afghanistan, and even it were still only some of their leadership will be there.

TTP is an offshoot of your good terrorist movement. Your policy is backfiring once again. You built thousands of madrassas along the AFG-PAK border in order to use them against your neighbors. Now you have an entire generation of brainwashed Pashtuns with no future and nothing to lose.

You are tasting a bit of your own medicine. You deserve it. Enjoy.
There is nothing wrong with madrassas.
it is the right and wish of people in those areas to have institutions to teach their kids about the religion.
These madrassas aren't built by the ''pak'' government but by locals and contributions from wealthy Muslims.

Your problem with madrassas stem from your ideological hatred towards Muslims.

Now don't go into a diatribe about the madrassas being terorist making factories, that is a vague claim.

sertaj aziz is saying that because claiming such a thing will give ''pak''istan leverage over Afghanistan. He is simply using a propaganda used by northern alliance to discredit the taliban as being pakistanis in disguise.
In doing this pakistan gets a say and will gain influence over Afghan peace and future but it proved disastrous for pakistan when taliban didn't attend the 'afghan peace initiative in pakistan'' and also the fact that ttp has always pledged allegiance to taliban.

I wouldn't say it's devoid of resources. It's gone through a rough period of war. There are a lot of natural resources in Afg. Unfortunately the Taliban blew up the Bamiyan Buddhas, as that would've been a cash cow for tourism.

Same deal with Pak, only Pak instead of going through war, has been dealing with an existential threat from hostile India, and has ended up focusing on their military to the detriment of other industries. Also, Pak had (still has) generally lousy leaders.

These nations are designed like that. That is what hegemonic powers do. Pakistan was created to be hostile towards India and spend all its energy on a useless endeavor and that is what the current Afghan gov was created for. To be hostile towards Pakistan and spend all its energy on that useless endeavor. Why not spend your energy on establishing free and fair trade so the common people can all benefit. Cooperation between nations is what hegemonic powers fear because their influence decreases.
