Taliban are Pashtuns. Just because few Tajiks have joined the movement it doesn't mean Tajiks support it. For the average Tajik Taliban means Punjabi.

In Herat most of famous Taliban were both Tajiks: Ghulam Yayah Akbari (killed few years ago) and Soleiman Amiri (joined government). Still it doesn't change the fact that most of Taliban in Herat are from heavily populated Pashtun districs such as Shindand, Pashtun Zarghoon, Adraskan, etc.

As a Tajik I acknowledge that not all Pashtuns are Taliban, just like not all Taliban are Pashtuns. Pakistanis use to claim that USA toppled a legitimate national government and imposed a Tajik dictatorship on Afghanistan but the bitter truth is that most of people working for USA in Afghanistan are Pashtuns (Khalilzad, Ghani, Atmar, Karzai, Jalili, etc) while most of those "Tajik leaders" are a bunch of corrupt brutal warlords.

Taliban have become much more multi-ethnic since their inception. They were almost completely Pashtun before, but now there's lots of Punjabis in the Afghan Taliban. This is clear because a lot of them who are caught by the Afghan army speak Dari with a Punjabi accent.

Taliban 'mostly being Pashtuns' or 'representing Pashtuns' is just pure Pakistani propaganda. The Pashtuns on our side hate the Taliban as do the Pashtuns on the Afghan side. Musharraf is a lying piece of ****. He's the biggest coward of them all. He backtracks on what he said after someone corrected him and said '20 percent'. Even though the total number of Persian-speakers (not exclusively Tajiks) rounds up to possibly higher than 50 percent.

Few brainwashed pamiris and punjabis eager to fight against unislamic army joining them doesn't mean whole lot. In case of punjabi tallies for exemple, they were there when Taliban captured Kabul. But TTP punjabi tallies were only known in 2008 after fights between different factions.

One faction of TTP wanted uzbeks to go back to Afghanistan, while other wanted them to stay. As internal TTP conflict continued, pro-uzbek faction of TTP started to blame punju tallies (who were anti-uzbeks) for being agents of government. Before that no one new about punju tallies. So when the time comes these savages will forget about islamic brotherhood and will kill each other over ethnic and political differences. You don't see examples like this in now days in punjab since its mish mash of many castes. Apart from maybe in khalistani movement when sikh jatts refused to fire at khalistanis who were mostly sikh jatts.
