  • Pakhtunkhwa has twice as many Pashtuns as Afghanistan

I would like Nick, Darweshkhel and other intelligent members of PF to bring forward statistics to dismiss this claim of ISI.
There are more Pashtuns east of the durand line. You have to remember the very fertile Peshawar valley is situated there so it would make sense that many Pashtuns migrated there historically. Also this is not a propaganda against Afghanistan rather it is the stupidity of a pro-pakistani to mention it. If they are trying to justify by using this 'claim', then conversely we can do the same. I.e. we can point to them that India has more muslims than Pakistan, so I guess there is no point of Pakistan right? Daa asae bae zae khabarae dee ao yaw bae zae bass. I don't know about that. However as of now there are more. This is of no matter as in the greater scheme of things we are the majority in Afghanistan and only 15 % in Pakistan. Again there are more important issues.

Afghanistan has between 15 to 17 Million Pashtuns as more than half of its population.
Pashtunkhwa/Pakistan certainly has more Pashtuns than Afghanistan but can not be accounted as double the number.
Khyber Pashtunkhwa has a majority of Pashtuns and in most cases Sariakis/Hindkus are also included as Pashtuns, which is incorrect.
Pashtuns living in southern Punjab ie. Mianwali and Attock are Pashtuns (Niazi,Jadoon and many small tribes) by race but are total aliens to Pashto language and Pashtun traditions.

No more than 3 Million Pashtuns live in Karachi, even the very exaggerated claim of Pashtun Nationalist parties is to be around 4 million Pashtuns living in Karachi.

India has more muslims than Pakistan (at least for the most part of its history), so in a way its like saying there is no point to Pakistan.

If they identify, live in the homeland and in a generation can re learn then sure. Why not?

yes pakhtunkhwa has many millions more Pakhtuns than Afghanistan. Pakistan on whole has roughly 3.5 x Pakhtuns than Afghanistan. This includes Pakhtuns of Balochistan- 5 million
                      Karachi 6-7 million
                      attock/mianwali(Punjab),2 million
                      Gilgit/baltistan- 1+

Plus all those west of durrand line about 5 million living in Pakistan etc

We probably have about 30-40 million.

Seriously, Afghanistan needs to catch up with us....12 million is embarrassing. Lolz.

It is more, and plus remember 3 million (majority being Pashtuns) died in the Soviet Afghan war.

Well only 35 to 40 million people can speak pashto in the world.
Pashtuns in mainwali can't speak pashto..and in Karachi some pashtuns have adopt urdu now.
