Tribal elders vow to fight alongside Pak Army

WANA: Tribal elders from South Waziristan on Monday said that 10 million tribespeople would fight alongside the security forces to protect the motherland against the Indian aggression.

Speaking at a press conference at the residence of Malik Noor Khan Mehsud, elders of the Mehsud, Wazir, Burki, and other tribes said that they would support the security forces if India attacked Pakistan.

The elders, including Malik Kabul Khan, Malik Rehman Gul Mehsud, Malik Muhammad and others, said their forefathers had rendered sacrifices for the country and Kashmir.

They said that hundreds of tribesmen had died fighting Indian soldiers in Kashmir and vowed to lay down their lives for the security of Pakistan.

The elders said that Pakhtuns in Afghanistan were Afghans but claimed that the same ethnic group in Pakistan was not Afghan but only Pakhtun.

GHALLANAI: Political activists in Mohmand Agency staged a rally in support of the Pakistan Army. Speakers at the rally they said they would not hesitate to fight against India to protect the frontiers of Pakistan.

KHAR: Tribesmen in Bajaur Agency staged protest against India. They chanted slogans against India and warned it of dire consequences if made the mistake of attacking Pakistan.

KALAYA: Tribesmen in Orakzai Agency vowed a good response if India dared to attack Pakistan.

HANGU: Councillors, students and political activists staged rallies in Hangu to express solidarity with the security forces. They asked the chief of army staff to give a befitting response to India in case of any aggression.

MINGORA: Protesters burned effigies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during rallies against India in different parts of the town. The protesters said that India would face defeat if it attacked Pakistan. They asked the government to support the Kashmiri people in their struggle.

Look at the bolded part, LOL. I thought the letter "A" or "alif" in Pakistan stood for Afghan according to founders of Pakistan?

It is true that Pashtuns in Pakistan are not Afghan by nationality but they are Afghan by ethnicity. I remember from old days, there was a member here by the name of NokiaApridy, who hated to be called Afghan and I guess it has alot to do with the way some people with an agenda are trying to confuse pashtuns and cause divide between lar aw bar.

I don't have a problem with people defending their homeland and its true that the tribes from FATA helped in freeing Azad Kashmir but I have a problem with the problem with the bolded part where people are deliberately trying to differentiate between the term Afghan and Pashtun.

Some of these maliks, khans or so called tribal elders are on the pay roll of the government and have been since colonial times. They do not represent the common Pashtuns. These traitors also exist in Afghanistan and all over pashtun lands and will switch their loyalties to the highest bidder.

I have numerous Pashtun friends from KPK cursing 'mahjars' and complaining about how they cheated them.

In South Punjab, nobody gives a **** who is Afghan or not, Pashtun or not. As long as nobody causes trouble nobody honestly cares.

Even this is now questioned. Pakistani defence analysts and retired army officers turned writers are nowadays claiming that its tribals who were responsible for Indian army occupation of Srinagar, that they reached there late and did more harm than good. New claims are promoted, that it were actually local militias from Azad Kashmir who freed Kashmir and that role of tribals was secondary or tertiary.

As i mentioned before, tribals are no longer charismatic warriors of Islam in the eyes of Pakistani army......so narratives are changed, now they are agreeing with Indians that tribals did loot and harmed Kashmiris in 1948....

Those cannon fodders, mercenaries, are buried in unmarked graves of Kashmir.......Pakistani state claimed the victory in 1948 war and declared Pakistani army to be the one responsible for the victory against India. Highest gallantry award was given to a Pakistan soldier. On the occasion they denied the role of state in sponsoring and guiding tribal lashkars, but later they claimed that tribal lashkars were led by army officers.......might be true as we do not know the name of even single leader of tribal leader.
