the speedy reforms triggered the mullahs to rise up the people. The main resistance came from religious people who felt that Islam was in danger, I could not find any source who claims that Amanullah wasted money or people were dieng from poverty due to his wastefulness. Yes people were poor due to the 3 wars with the British, but still that was not the main reason....

How convenient “Afghanistan should accept Durand line” Kushal, exaggerating the mass support and hiding the foreigner “Kafir” supports for your favorite group. The fact is Mullahgan that lead the “rebellion” against Amanullah khan were in bed with the Angreez playing hide the gerbil.
Lawrence of Arabia. … stayed in home of Mufti Mahmood father of Rafzo Rahman and later went to Wazeristan….

“Clad in the most picturesque Oriental garb, silken Kerchiefs of diverse hue tied round his head, with long “Jhubba” of silk with designs of different colours and a “lungi” of the same material…’, he was ‘intimate with the tribes and began subsequently to distribute among the tribes money and arms and provoked them against (King) Amanullah’.

“On December 5, 1028, the Daily news of London reported that Colonel T.E. Lawrence was in India on the Afghan border, learning Pashtu language, and people inferred that Lawrence intended to enter Afghanistan. The Issue was further substantiated when Hamdard-i-Afghan, a local newspaper in Kabul, wrote in Dec 9 1929, that Lawrence entered Afghanistan with false religious name of Pir Karam Shah in the midst of the rebellion. Further eyewitness reports by Ghobar, a distinguished Afghan historian describes a similar event when British Authorities in India sent an Indian citizen to Paktoya under a fake Islam name (Abdul Karim) to influence southern mullah against Amanullah's reforms. This man was deceptively called the son of former Afghan king Amir M Yaqub khan. Abudul Karim called himself Amir Abdul Karim. Newspaper Zamindar of Lahore quoted the London Weekly, "Reforms in Afghanistan since the Kings return from Europe are of special significance in regard to the political interests of Bolshevik Asiatic Russia on the north and the Hills of British India in South. Here Colonel Lawrence is watching the trouble which he has sown in Afghanistan. On December 12, 1928 the newspaper Aman-i-Afghan reproduced an article from Sunday Express of September 30 that recounted Lawrence's activities in tribal regions. The Bombay chronicle also reports this story.” H Hadi, MD. 2016. Afghanistan's Experiences: The History of the Most Horrifying Events involving politics, religion and terrorism.

Here is more fact about “Jahad” against PDPA, if it was not for brutality of Roskies—carpet bombing… the Islamist would have never gain the mass support.

Your missing the point Azmal. Everyone knows about british instigation, they themselves have admitted it. Even today there are many so called mullahs on the ISI, CIA, Iran intelligence, Russian intelligence, etc payroll. The point is that those so called mullahs would be shooting empty words out of their mouths if Amanullah had not given them ammunition which was speedy reforms that were alien to a conservative population.

If any person goes to my own village in Paktia(remember these are very conservative people) and preaches "parda." that person would be patted on the back with a "shabusay" whether that person is on a foreign intelligence agency payroll or not and if that same person preaches what Amanullah was doing. The chance of him making it out alive is slim.

So in essence, the Brits may have sounded the alarms, but it was amanullah himself that give the people a reason to rebel and your sputnik article further proves my point. Even today it is America's presence that fuels the rebellion, if your hero Ghani was smart, the first thing he should have done as president was tell America to get out.
