  • Where was the melmastia and humanity of Pashtuns during Hijrat movement of India?

If you dont know, let me inform you that Hijrat movement was an extension of Khilafat movement of India , in which Hindustan was declared "Dar-ul-harb" due to British rule who were planning to end Ottoman caliphate . King Amanullah of Afghanistan corroborated with Deoband's ulemas and it was decided that Hindi Muslims would migrate to Afghanistan and settle there. The insane plan involved migration of 8 crores Indian Muslims through only 40,000 to 130,000 migrated to Afghanistan, mostly poor families.

In Afghanistan , the Indian Muhajireens were unable to adopt to harsh life and many began to die of starvation and cold there......but those who returned to India and have written about it, have mentioned Afghan government welcoming them but the Afghan subjects were cold and did not welcome them.....Indian writers have even claimed that Muhajireen were harassed by local Afghan marauders who stole their properties and kidnapped their women.........i suspected these claims to be biased but i have received input from very senior persons from FATA who have confirmed that in Afghanistan they were treated very badly and they were looted by locals.........Although Afghans (citizens of Afghanistan) are singled out but it seems the highway robbers of Khyber and other passes also harassed the emigrants.......

The question arises.......are Pashtuns really hospitable?, or their hospitality is all about "Sath" ...or they have some twisted versions of melmastia and nanawati. Travelers always needed local escorts through Pashtun areas otherwise they could be robbed and even killed. Even today criminals and murderers run away from settled areas and get asylum and protection in FATA where they enjoy the "hospitality" .........twisted hospitality.......when they , Bar Afghans in this case, were tested in 1920, they not only received them coldly but also harassed their guests.......On Pakistan side, in 21st century, Wazirsitan refugees, were coldly received in settled areas and were kind of robbed by charging them with higher rents than normal.

pashtuns were never hospitable to Indians, muslims or not. Central Asians have always been racists towards south asians, there is a whole history about it, Pashtuns / central asians were only hospitable to Arabs

Didn't you claim to be a descendant of those Central Asians (Pashtuns and Tajiks)?

Pashtun areas are lawless. Most commoners are hospitable but that does not mean there arnt robbers and killers lurking especially during war times.

During Amanullah Khan's reign Afghanistan was a very poor country. People were suffering from his policies and they did not support his government. How can you blame people for not being hospitable to them when they themselves didn't have anything?

Besides, There is allot of racism in Afghanistan. Many saw Indian Muslims as inferior. So even if they were able to assist the refugees, they may have declined because of they were racists.

I think it actually comes down to skin colour, fairer skin people have always been racists towards darker skin, and since Indians are among the most darkest people in the world, Afghans couldn't handle the darkness

I don't think Hijrat movement was extension of Deobandi school and Jam'iyyat al ulama e Hind, the movement was characteristically opposed to khilafat movement. Part of objection related to Sultan Turkey could not claim the title of caliph as he was not Quraysh and some other Sharia condition as well. Another objection was Muslim could not seek the cooperation of Kafirs in pursuit of religious goal---indication the movement was looking at Khalafat movement in religious rather than political terms.
Shah Amanullah initially courted Khalafat movement against British, after establishment of Republic of Turkey Khalafat movement lost purpose and turn against Shah Amanullah…Afghan historian Ghobar believes the actual reason for down fall of Shah Amanullah was Khalafat movement provocation of Afghan populace on behalf of British. There were countless "Pirs",Akhunds, Mullahs Babagaan and Kakagaan in Pashtun region that were in payroll of British Raj.

That being said, i have prepared an article from a book, whose author is Pakistani, which explains why this movement failed and whether Amanullah really was the one responsible for its failure? (Pakistanis put entire blame on Afghanistan, but it was mainly the attitude of Indian Muhajieen which provided the reason for Amanullah to stop it)

That's possible........British governor of NWFP during 1940's, Cunningham, in his diaries do mention that many of ulemas were on their payroll, their agents.....for example one of the mullah from my area "Mullah Marwat" worked for British and tried to convince faqir of ipi not to fight against British as it would be helpful for "kafirs" like Russians (that atleast British are "ahle-i-kitab)

The downfall of Amanullah has more to do with his speedy reforms that the people were not ready for rather than a few so called mullahs on the brits payroll.

I do not know now if it is karma because we invented cast system to the dark smelly modern pakis or just that foreign and smelly savages wants to die by Pashtuns hands.

We have been invaded by parasites 700 times during 2500 years. Most famous savages and parasites were King Bacha baaz Alexander, masters of poor haramis like Shamalawri that lived/lives in Afghanistan, these haramis that worship these desert Tazis (arabs), rapist and sub humans mongol-turks, mix raced tazi persians and modern day pork skinned english dirty savage who's culture is defined by sexually transmitted diseases.

It is no wonder that those Afghans/Pashtuns who left inside Afghanistan does not like more foreign poor souls inside its noble land....

Pashtun being hostile towards foreigners is not something new. One of the reason why our landlocked coutry is so poor is also due to lack of connection with other people. Most succesfull kingdoms that were centered in what is today Afghanistan were known for their openess and conectivity to other people in the region, whole kingdoms were built on trade.

Amanullah knew this and tried to open up Afghans towards the world so that trade and exchange of information would accure. But the culture of Afghanistan of that time was totaly alienated from the surrounding countries. India was ruled by the british and central asian stans by Russians. To trade with them and start business Afghans needed to understand that culture, the culture of the west. Bristish and Russians, or European in general always looked down on colored people, and if you did not had some cultural understanding, trade with them or learning their technology could never happen. Thats why amanullah who was educated in he west tried to change and make Afghans more open, or westernised.

Ghani tries also to open it up, by bringing reforms and pushing women to get education, but donkey brain mullahs, wahabist and general extremist think that this is an atack on Afghan culture and norms. Transforming the current, closed, xenophobic and sometimes even racist Afghan culture is a good thing for our own survival. Cultural stagnation leads to alienation, poverty and will result in total colapse of society, look at the current state of Afghanistan. Do you think Afghanistan would be like that if we had accepted Amanullah reforms? No it would not. I dont say it would be a paradise, but at least it would be at par with the development of the surrounding countries....
