Salam to you all. Long time no see

Guys , a lot of propaganda in pakistan is goining on about the terms Afghans and Afghanistan after Torkham clashes. I am doing liitle reserach to educate them and dispel propaganda. As i mentioned some time earlier on this forum that the term "Afghanistan" or "Awghanistan" appears in Tarikh nama-i-Harat written in 1322 AD. Allama Habibi says that "Tarikh-e Herat authored by Saifi Herawi (circa 1342) calls the western lands, as far as the Indus, by the name of Afghanistan".....i found an ebook of this book on web, its poorly scanned. Turns out the word is mentioned at two places in this book

Can you guys translate what is written in this text?

Its written "Awghanistan" not "Afghanistan". And since Habibi is behind of it, I would take it with a grain of salt.
"For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,
I awaken the Ajam by this Persian [language]. "

We shouldn't take any book seriously which says afghans were living till indus considering KPK become pashto speaking majority in last few centuries.

That's a very valid point. Pashtuns are not even close to being indigenous to Peshawar or most of KPK.

There was another book , "Afghans of the fronteir passes", which gave reference of Tarikh Nama-i-Harat, saying that present-day North-western Balochistan has been referred to as 'Afghanistan' in this 14th century book......the translation will make the things clear, but you are forgetting that Afghans/Pashtuns of Balochistan live near river Indus, and in the past Marri-Bugti areas were also inhabited by Pashtuns.

In south punjab, west of indus is dominated by baloch tribes, did pashtuns dominate there before baloch? I'm talking about D.G Khan and Rajanpur districts in south punjab which end up on western side of indus and border north Balochistan.

I'm pretty sure now at least seraiki speaking baloch make majority there, though I could be wrong.

DG Khan and Muzaffargarh was dominated by Naghar/Nahar Afghans before arrival of Balochs. This is even attested by Ain-i-Akbari , beside the monuments. Tarikh-i-Masumi of Akbar period also mentions Naghars or Nahars.

                        Naghar

Yup i know about that, Tarikh-i-Bayhaqi of the same period also mentions Afghans and expeditions of Mahmud Ghaznavi against them. Its the word "Afghanistan" in Tarikh nama-i-harat which is attention-worthy, generally it is believed that it is in Baburnama in which word Afghanistan and Awghanistan first appears. As you can see, its not true.....

Possible considering balochi language is west Iranic related to kurdish. So they came relatively recently to these regions compared to speakers of pashto, seraikis or brahui. Baloch migrated to DG Khan in 16th century and now many speak either seraiki or balochi.

edit: Seem like they were invited by Langahs rulers of Multan to settle down in DG Khan/Rajanpur.
