Today I came across this Iranian guy from Neka, Mazandaran and we started talking about politics. He suddenly said "I hate Pakistanis. They smell bad and they are religious fanatics. Pakistan is such a fake country that even my grand mother is older than her" lmao

I am starting to see that there is a growing hatred toward Pakistan among many Iranians. I don't know why..

There does not seem to be a geographic link between Pakistan and Iran. In their middle, it's just barren land and a great salt desert. Iran has some links with Afghanistan and the Pashutns.

Baloch people live in iran and have caused insurgency, it makes sense for iranians to hate baloch nationalists and the nationalist baloch don't even consider themselves Pakistani.

Iran and Pakistan. The religionship isn't like that clear, aside from the fact that Persians did move into India (but those persians could have been tajiks instead of Iranians)... Pakistnais could hate Iran because of the Shia-Sunni Issue but in all honesty,..

2. the massacre of Hazaras, iran supporting Hazaras since they are fellow Shiites and are mad at Afg gov for that.

3. For those of you who don't know, Iran still claims Herat as their territory (the same way PAshtuns claim Peshawar)..... I mean, it may not end there, Iran can claim many parts of Afghanistan beyond Sistan and Herat. Sure, very few hardcore iranians will go to the extreme of claiming tajikstan, but trust me, this is not alot of them.


4. Alot of Afghans might hate Iran because Iran is a shia country (except for Afghans who are shia themselves, like HAzaras).....
5. AFghanistna had trafficed drugs to Iran.

Persians were historical enemies to Pashtun. But nowadays, they have been divided between west persians and east persians (being tajiks). Plus, alot of Pashtuns that move more to urban or northern regions become persianized when they mingle with tajiks.

Well, Iran still consider Herat as part of its territory but just like Peshawar, its impossible for them take it. Here is why:

1) Heratis dislike Iran Shia regime (even many Shias) just like most of Peshawar's dislike Afghanistan.
2) Western Afghan border is an international recognized one. Just like Durrand Line.
3) Many Iranian nationalist don't even claim Herat.. but even Mazar, Kabul, Ghazni, Samarkand, Bukhara, Panjkent and Merw.
4) Iran is very unhappy with the Salma Dam Project but yet they did not protest too much. They are busy in the Middle East so they need to have peace in their backyard. Eventually Afghanistan and Iran will solve this problem. Its just a matter of time.

How was Persian historical enemy of Pashtuns? You sound like those Tajikam troll...the country Iran is successor of Shiite Turk kingdom of Safavid. Pashtun war were against Shiite Turk Safavids and their QazilBash(read hat in Turkish) troops. You should read a little about Turk Safavids and their Qazilbash, how they treated and viewed Persians... when a Saffavid Shah send a Persian wazir to lead the Qazilbash troops in battle against Shaybanids Uzabks...the Qazilbash felt so insulted having a Persian leading them in a battle...that they rebelled and killed the Persian Wazer on spot.
