Resolution for Hazara province to be tabled in Parliament: minister

DASU: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousuf on Monday announced that a resolution for formation of Hazara province will be tabled by the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) in the Parliament.

He made the announcement while addressing a public meeting in Dasu.

“We are in contact with other parties in National Assembly to table a resolution seeking status of province for Hazara division of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa,” the federal minister said.

He expressed his optimism that the resolution will be passed with majority of votes in the lower house of the Parliament.

The minister said, “If more provinces are created, most of the issues and problems of people can be resolved at their doorsteps.”

Yousuf said that the region of Kohistan is important because of the future power needs of the country. The minister went on to say that top priority has been given to the completion of Diamer-Basha hydropower project and Dasu hydropower project, being built in Kohistan, by the government.

He said that in order to include more women beneficiaries in the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), a fresh survey will be carried out. He added that he has talked to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar for the construction of a passport office in Kohistan.

“Kohistanis are going to Battagram for getting passports,” said the minister.

He said, “I know Kohistan is a backward district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but government has been working on a comprehensive plan to put it on path of the prosperity and development.”

So they don't have problem with their cities named after Abbott and Hari Singh Nalwa but suddenly after NWFP name change to KPK they started to feel insecure.

Punjab division is on the card but dividing Sindh isn't possible. Anyway they don't care about name much since this issue is much older then name change. They cry about Peshawar eating their resources and not given fair share in provincial budget. Point is minorities everywhere feel they are being hard done by majority.

South punjab want to become separate province for same reason.

Nawaz sharif party has got a brutal majority in punjab assembly,they are not going to divide punjab.Also the parties which were in favour of dividing punjab PPP and pml-q got almost wiped out from pubjab in 2013 polls.So in a way people of south punjab rejected the demand of separate province.

For now they have rejected them but who knows about future or even next election. But Hindko seem to vote only for those who promise them province.

The idea is to divided the Pashtun as much as possible...your Punjabi brothers will want nothing else but a subdued Chowkedar type Pathan Saheeb....if they want to make Hazara province then let FATA and Balochistan Pashtuns join KPK.

Don't worry Hazara province is on paper only. I just made this thread because afghanis cry about punjabis are eating pathan resources without any proof what so ever. Turn out in KPK it's other way around

Ganja won't divide Punjab as he depends on Punjab and unless it begins from Punjab we won't accept any division of KPK or Balochistan.

FATA and KPK will merge within this decade most likely.

I doubt it, merging of FATA will negate the forward policy of Pakistani state against Afghanistan and Pashtun as a people. I would assume there will be more inflaming of minorities in Pashtun land by your brown Saheeb and off course their favorite putting Pashtun against Balochs in Balochistan and Sindhis and Mahajars in Sindh.
