See, we are already communicating in English and English is the international language of science, technology and business. It is the lingua franca of the world. If a Japanese wants to speak to a chinese, they will use English. Even China which is more than 90% Han chinese needs English to get anywhere in this world.

We Pashtuns in Afghanistan have to learn Farsi to speak to other Afghans and the Pashtuns in Pakistan have to learn Urdu to speak with other Pakistanis. Why should us Pashtuns have to burden ourselves with these 2 languages when we can use English instead for the same purpose and we need English for education anyways. If there is ever a united Pashtun majority state then we can just use Pashto but for now this is a reasonable solution. People in Pakistan and Afghanistan pay extra for English language courses. Why not make it integral part of state curriculum so by the time, students finish high school, they are fluent in English?
Farsi/Urdu are useless for Pashtun students who want to study in top universities of India and the west. I saw a documentary about Afghan university students in India who had to take prelimenary English courses before they could study because in Afghanistan the books are in Dari/Pashto.
Wrong, urdu isn't useless for anyone. There are dozens of languages in Pakistan but if you know urdu then one can work anywhere in Pakistan. Similarly English is language of higher education in Pakistan.

Anyway urdu is damn easy to speak for any Pakistani, even afghanis pick it up quickly. Even isolated tribes like Kalash now speak urdu. We will never communicate with each other in english, sound weird.

Please enlighten me as to why using English to communicate with other ethnic groups who don't speak your language is bad as most people speak English or will be able to speak English in the near future? I am not saying we must give English official status or replace our own language.

Urdu has replaced your mother tongue Punjabi and Punjabis with thick Urdu accents as its not their mother tongue are called Paindoos and looked down upon. Soon people speaking in Urdu will be looked down upon by English speakers.

Urdu which is basically modified Hindi with persian/arabic added on is the language of northern India. It is their mother tongue. All etnic groups in Pakistan have their own languages and don't need Urdu. Work for your own language rather than Urdu. Before we know it, there will be no more Punjabi, Sindhi etc in Pakistan. That will be a great loss.
You will need translations to undrestand the poetry of Buleh Sha, Farid etc. Imagine heer ranja in English Lol

Nope it didn't replace punjabi as my mother tongue, we speak punjabi between us but with others urdu. I'm sure you heard Imran Khan speaking urdu, that's how someone with punjabi mother tongue speak urdu. We don't have to speak like indian muhajirs accent, neither they sound good tbh. English speaking ones likely will look down upon others since they will most likely to belong to elite class. That's normal everywhere, rich look down upon poor especially in 3rd world countries.

Lol Pakistanis/Punjabis using divide and tactic to divide Afghans by vilifying Farsi/-speakers. u will not succeed lmao. Farsi has been a native language of this region for at least 2000+ years and co-existed with Pashto. Even the strong extreme force Taliban were, they had no problem with half the country speaking Farsi, they never wanted to remove Farsi/Pashtunize Afghanistan. There is no reason why it can't continue the same path. We must believe and work towards becoming a force in the future. 2000 years ago, Persia was the migthiest nation on the face of the earth, and Afghanistan was an important center of this great civilization. Afghanistan can reach same status once again. Nothing is impossible. We must keep intact our identities, languages and cultures as that's what makes us who we are. People with no past (or knowledge of their past), have no future.

Golden is a black/brown Hindu English slave descendant. This was Golden's ancestors, he is displaying same mentality as his slave ancestors:

An Afghan would die rather than to be in the position of Golden and his people/ancestors. Slave of the English.

LOL Anyways I think Shapur is a genuine and authentic Pashtun; what he says is more out of pragmatic concerns that English is modern day Linga franca so it makes no sense IN HIS eyes to spend so much focus on Farsi when Farsi is not a modern communicative lingo.

I however disagree with him as Farsi is of rich literary and cultural significant just as much as Pashto. AFB doesn't speak Farsi NOR Pashto.

Let's not be deluded; we have numerous examples of servitude to foreign powers like Farangayan or Persians or Mughals. Mainstream Afghans are definitely independent and freedom-loving people, hence why they always rejected nationalism. However, the Ruling Class of Afghanistan has always been lackeys of foreign invaders. Do you know the story of Begum Shah Jahan and Lt. Robert Warburton? She was a princess of the Mohmadzais who ran away and eloped with a British Soldier, Robert Warburton.

Robert Warburton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Warburton was born in a Ghilzai fort between Jagdallak and Mak on 11 July 1842, was the only son of Robert Warburton (died 10 Nov. 1864), lieutenant-colonel in the Royal Artillery, by his wife, an Afghan lady. At the time of his birth his mother was flying from the troopers of Sardar Muhammad Akbar Khan, who pursued her for months after the massacre of English at Kabul on 1 November 1841. She was sheltered by her relatives, and finally rejoined her husband on 20 September 1842

The Khan of Lalpura & followers, with political officer.
The charismatic Warburton was among the many interesting personalities who worked along the North-West Frontier of the British Empire in India, his story is likened to that of Rudyard Kipling's 'Kim'. He was half-Afghan, his mother Shah Jahan Begum was the niece of the former Amir Dost Mohammed of Afghanistan, and his father was Lt. Colonel Robert Warburton who saw action in Kabul in the First Afghan War (1838-42). It was said that she had saved him from capture and he fell in love with her and married her. Their son was educated in India and at Addiscombe in England, joining the Royal Artillery and returning to India in 1862. Perhaps because of his mother's aristocratic lineage he was comfortable with his mixed heritage. Fluent in Pashtu, he moved fluidly between the Afghans and the British, establishing rappport with both

Honestly if I was pathan in afghanistan then I will rather die before adopting farsi as official language. English is neutral and have nothing to do with us, so that's better option. Considering how racist farsis are on internet towards pathans. As farsi/ferdoursi said they have clearly rejected the idea of making pashto as official language so why should pathans have to become doctors in farsi?

Initially urdu speaking indian muhajirs had similar though process for natives but eventually they were given good danda from behind by army, they are after all muhajirs and should be grateful to natives of Pakistan. Now feeling superior based on being native urdu speakers is last thing in their mind. But farsis are natives of Afghanistan and that give them unfair advantage.

Stop posting pictures of Indians and saying they are my ancestors, stupid ****tard. Indians are your masters, be respectful to them like Ghani is. At one hand your leader kiss Modi a** and here you make fun of them.

Haha, that was hilarious, Shapur, But thats Tehrani accent, bro, not Herati. We say "nagoftom"!

You made plenty of valid points. But as I have pointed out English as a worldwide lingua franca will eventually become weaker. Indeed would be great for Afghans to learn English after all its used by the entire planet. So at the end of the day its just a matter of opinions and points of view. So I find your opinion reasonable.

Dont twist my words, my Indian friend. The reason why Tajiks refuse to speak Pashto its because they consider it an useless language. A waste of time. In Afghanistan and Iran Farsi is used as lingua franca. In Pakistan/India its Urdu. And in Central Asia its Russian. Thats why don't speak it (I know plenty of Tajiks fluent in Pashto though).

BTW don't look down on India. You are an Indian too. Pakistan=India. Dont hate your motherland. You are not centralasian nor middleastern. You are an Indian Muslim and your identity is an offshoot of Hindu civilization heavily influenced by your Tajik and Pashtun masters.

I don't look down on India, they are great people and most importantly masters of Afghans. Tajiks (you are not persian sorry) and pathans themselves are former savages forced to convert. Hindus had great civilisations in the past on par with Greek and Egypt civilisations.

Remember civilised people always have upper hand eventually that's why Indians are now your masters and you have to kiss a** of low caste Modi hindu.
