This is made up, Alexander swept through Afghanistan in days. He never said anything like that. I hope for afghanis standing up mean building roads, hospitals, railways and not hatred against brother country. Pakistan is even willing to give up claim on FATA/KPK/Balochistan. We believe muslims should live in peace. Please take these lands back and take care of them.

Tajiks are descendants of Bactrians, and are the purest Persians left today. We did not adopt Farsi, Farsi is our language. Ancient Bactrian was the root of modern Farsi. The Persians of Iran are heavily Arabized in genetics, it had to take Tajiks or else they would still be speaking Arabic like the rest of Middle East. As Tajiks we are also proud of our Genghis Khan blood as well. Tajik means ''descendended from Kings'' (Taj = King/crown), because Tajiks mainly descend from Bactrians and the Persian rulers of Achaemenid Empire who fled to Bactria, after the Arabs invaded Persia. We also have a little Genghis Khan blood in our veins, which makes us the most superior people on the face of this Earth, since we can lay claim two of the greatest civilizations in history, the Achaemenid Persian Empire and Genghis Khan's empire.Originally posted by Golden View PostAfghanistan should be compared with congo or somalia, not Pakistan. I know mongloid people like tajik, hazaras etc in Afghanistan adopted Farsi, that's was my point that it would be yet another foreign language anyway like urdu/enlish so what's the difference. English at least is international language. And about you speaking pashto, good for you but Pakistan will not make pashto official on national level. Pathans can teach pashto to their kids, no one is stopping them.
Every province can chose what they want but even they can't force minorties to adopt any language. Sindhis can't force Karachi people who are 90% non sindhis learn sindhi. Pathans in KPK can't force hindko to learn pashto in schools. Baloch can't force Balochistan pathans to adopt Balochi. Pakistanis live in harmoney and peace unlike afghani savages, force is last thing in anyone mind. That's why I don't get these stupid randu afghanis crying about punjabis forcing urdu on pathans, ignorants.

Why can't Pakistan make Pashto official language? Pashtuns are the 2nd largest group in Pakistan, not too far from Punjabis in numbers, why must Urdu be only official language, why not Pashto as well? This is why your country will fail.Originally posted by Golden View PostAfghanistan should be compared with congo or somalia, not Pakistan. Actually if this ever happened Pakistan will fail. Seem like you don't know much about Pakistanis. Only reason urdu/english are acceptable to masses as official language is because they are foreign. While in Afghanistan farsis will have unfair advantage of imposing their native tongue on other afghanis like pathans. That may work in Afghanistan but not in Pakistan.Originally posted by Forreigner View PostWhy can't Pakistan make Pashto official language? Anyway language debate is getting tiresome, there is no going back now. Urdu will continue to be official language. I understand Afghanis are barely starting now so it make sense for them to decide what they want for future, Pakistanis already went through this decades ago.Last edited by Golden; 06-27-2016, 01:14 PM.

Since English is the international language of communication and most Pakistanis will be able to speak English, why not just use English as the official language and Punjabi, Pashto, Sindhi etc as official provincial language. What need is there for Urdu? This way all Pakistani ethnic groups can communicate with each other in English and can use their mother tongue within their own region. Urdu is just the third wheel, an extra language no one wants to learn except maybe mohajirs who should just adopt sindhi as they have lived in Sindh for ages.Originally posted by Golden View PostIf not for urdu then official language of this region would have been Farsi, another foreign tongue as was the case till British toke over and replaced it with urdu. One official language is very important in any country. Indians have english to communicate with people of other regions with in India while Pakistan choose urdu.
As people move to cities they will start to adopt urdu/english and dari/farsi in both countries.
This will help preserve local languages as most people will only need to know only 2 languages so they can focus on their mother tongue rather than the imported Urdu language.
I want the same thing to happen in Afghanistan so us Pashtuns don't have to learn Farsi to communicate with other ethnic groups, we will just use English and focus on our own mother tongue.

Nope, most Pakistanis can't speak english and may never do. Pakistanis are already communicating with each other in urdu and dare I say afghanis as well with Pakistanis because it's damn easy to pickup urdu for uneducated afghanis and pakistanis unlike English. Plus Pakistanis live way close to each other unlike Indians.Originally posted by Shapur View PostSince English is the international language of communication and most Pakistanis will be able to speak English, why not just use English as the official language and Punjabi, Pashto, Sindhi etc as official provincial language. As I said Pakistan left that stage decades ago while Afghanis can decide what they want for future. If things stay as they are which is most likely then Dari will become like urdu in Pakistan in few decades. Which is good thing because it will mean Taliban wouldn't have taken over by then. The future in which dari is by default official language of Afghanistan is good one.

I think Shapru is an Indian or Punjabi Pakistani. These people are used to serve the English slave masters, but not people of Afghanisan..Originally posted by Afghanfootballoh my goodness lol. You are a level headed poster so i wont be harsh but this is disgraceful.
English is great, but should never even seriously be contemplated for any type of official language. As a native Farsi speaker, I'd rather have Pashto as official language than something as forreign as English lool. At least I know Pashto is native to our region.
Indians and Pakis ancestors were slaves to the British, this is why they have no pride in their own cultures and languages and easily adopt forreign cultures and languages. Indians and Pakis are very Westernized people, meaning they are easily subdued.
Afghanistan should promote our own languages instead. English should be thought in schools for business reasons, but no Afghanistan resident should even for disgrace their ancestor by a second thinking of making English official language.
Let Indian and Pakistani slaves of British do whaht they want, but keep it out of Afghanistan borders please.
Pakistanis and Indians have no pride and are easily subdued people. History proves this. there were 1 billion of them vs few British invaders, but as weak and spineless the Indians (including Pakis they were Indian back then lol) they cried for mercy, otherwise they had been extinct today. lmaoLast edited by Forreigner; 06-30-2016, 07:16 AM.

Pakistan, a fake nation built on religion and nothing else, is 70 year olds, and u are talking bad about a nation that is at least 200 years old (and 5000 years if Aryan contininuity is considered). Afghanistan had decided it's 2 offical language system at least 50 years ago, when your country was younger than most people on this forum lmao.Originally posted by Golden View PostNope, most Pakistanis can't speak english and may never do. Even a 4 decades war plagued Afghanistan is less poverty and as advanced as Pakistan, Pakistan is puppet state of USA since creation:

whether some one like it or not, english will be used as an official language in most countries whether it is officially declared or not. there is a difference between national language and official language. i don't agree that it should be used as a lingua franca, but it should be given an official status.Originally posted by Forreigner View PostI think Shapru is an Indian or Punjabi Pakistani. Recently there was petition by Afghan medical student in Kabul univ to change the medium of instruction to English. Almost all the medical terms used in Afghan text books are Arabic and the modern medical books are all Latin/English. Dari is a great literature language but that is it...what good learning Dari will do say a native Pamiri, Balochi or Nurstani people? Maybe learn some good poem..other then that absolutely nothing...while learning English will allow him/her be connected into information and science world. A translation of a new invention/discovery will take no less then 5 years and by that time it becomes obsolete. Mark my word in 30-50 years English will be our official language.Originally posted by Golden View PostNope, most Pakistanis can't speak english and may never do. Stupid? how did my comment warrant such word, when everything I said was more or less true? you may take it as insult, but that's your way of interpreting it.Originally posted by marwat View Postwhether some one like it or not, english will be used as an official language in most countries whether it is officially declared or not. there is a difference between national language and official language. i don't agree that it should be used as a lingua franca, but it should be given an official status.
how is shapur an indian or punjabi stupid?
I said shapur is indian or punjabi due to this: Pakistan and India pretty much has English as official language, even Bollywood cinema is half fully English, which isn't very useful, if you like to preserve your own languages/cultures.

I don't doubt that English is a great tool in this day and age, but I don't believe either that English will become official language of most countries, even though it's international language ''langauge of the world''. Yes, English speakers are seemingly the dominant group in the world in this age, but it won't stay like this forever,. As history tells us, different groups WILL eventually overtake, the English speaking world will not stay dominant forever.Originally posted by Azmal View PostRecently there was petition by Afghan medical student in Kabul univ to change the medium of instruction to English. Beside too many countries are succesful and wealthy without having English as official language (think China, Japan, Korea, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, etc.), so it makes no sense why you say it's more ''progressive'' to install English as official language of a nation.
In the future, the Chinese, Japanese, etc. will likely overtake the Anglophone world, and then what?
You guys then want to make Chinese or Japanese official language? lmao
it's useless in that sense. yes learning English is useful. Learn as many languages as you can is useful, but official language means you make your entire population speak English and degrade/abandon native languages, like what we see in many African countries who only speak either French or English. I believe everyone should preserve their own unique cultures and languages. It makes the world very boring place, if there is only one language spoken everywhere and only one culture (Western/English culture due to globalization). It will be like going to everywhere in the world and only be able to eat McDonnold food. lolLast edited by Forreigner; 06-30-2016, 12:03 PM.

In 50 years USA will be so weak that they will be unable to impose their culture, language and economic-political system on the world. And that will represent the end of English language as "worldwide lingua franca".Originally posted by Azmal View PostRecently there was petition by Afghan medical student in Kabul univ to change the medium of instruction to English. At current pace, with Iran gaining momentum, Persian will become once again a regional lingua franca. So apply water in burned area lol"For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,

Completely agreed, Dari is useless language for higher education. English should be official language of Afghanistan just like it is in Pakistan. But 30-50 years is to long a time IMO. Make it official now. Don't let farsis have their language as official one.Originally posted by Azmal View PostRecently there was petition by Afghan medical student in Kabul univ to change the medium of instruction to English. See, we are already communicating in English and English is the international language of science, technology and business. It is the lingua franca of the world. If a Japanese wants to speak to a chinese, they will use English. Even China which is more than 90% Han chinese needs English to get anywhere in this world.
We Pashtuns in Afghanistan have to learn Farsi to speak to other Afghans and the Pashtuns in Pakistan have to learn Urdu to speak with other Pakistanis. Why should us Pashtuns have to burden ourselves with these 2 languages when we can use English instead for the same purpose and we need English for education anyways. If there is ever a united Pashtun majority state then we can just use Pashto but for now this is a reasonable solution. People in Pakistan and Afghanistan pay extra for English language courses. Why not make it integral part of state curriculum so by the time, students finish high school, they are fluent in English?
Farsi/Urdu are useless for Pashtun students who want to study in top universities of India and the west. I saw a documentary about Afghan university students in India who had to take prelimenary English courses before they could study because in Afghanistan the books are in Dari/Pashto.Last edited by Shapur; 06-30-2016, 01:35 PM.
