Now it won't be possible to take back the Check Post without military confrontation.

Seems like a big blunder by Raheel Sharif before his retirement after few months

    Local Reaction to this move

According to the tribal people, around 3,000 houses and 500 shops and markets are situated in the border area.

A local tribesman, Eidak Wazir said hundreds of tribesmen staged a protest on Saturday close to the border and rejected Pakistan’s decision of delivering them to Afghanistan.

“We are Pakistani nationals by birth and would never like to be called Afghan citizens. Our elders had given sacrifices for this area which Pakistan decided to return to Afghanistan without our consent,” he stressed.

He said that like him, all the tribespeople did not want to lose their Pakistani identity. He claimed Pakistan had agreed to deliver its 400-meter deep border area to Afghanistan.

Like I said in other thread Pak army is incompetent when it comes to politics. Now they have learned their lessons by trusting cunning ANA. There is this misconception in Pakistan that every Afghani is pathan and hence someone who can be trusted.

While reality is half of afghan pathans are in Pakistan as refugees and rest in Afghanistan are fighting ANA.

Now Pakistan have to find a excuse to take back Angoor ada by force.

Pakistan won't do it for the time being as it would invite lot of attention from the world including USA with whom we currently doesn't has good relations.

But through proxy war Pakistan might increase its support for anti Afghanistan elements and further bleed them.

Balochistan border with Afghanistan is already sealed with hundreds of km long trench and more numbers of posts and fence.Could this be a excuse to fence and mine the border with Afghanistan?

I hope so, hopefully Pakistan can take advantage of this backstabbing.

Could not believe that they fooled the army so easily.

I mean since childhood i would hear from the afghan refugees in d i khan that they come through angoor ada.Handing such a strategic site to Afghanistan further increase the chances of NDS and RAW spies into PAkistan in disguise of refugees.

It is very hard for me to believe.

Anyway what is the possibility of Pakistan taking something else in return but under table?

I have read that the town , or half of it, was in Afghanistan after Durand line demarcation of 1897......and was in possession of Afghanistan after 1947 before it was captured by Pakistani forces some time back. I need to confirm these claims.

There is lot of confusion and misinformation going on but Pakistan has only handed over Angoor ada check post to Afghanistan. This check post was illegally built by Pakistan inside Afghanistan territory some time ago, much to the protest of Afghanistan

I don't expect any under the table deal. Only hope left is for civilian leadership in Islamabad to find solution. Even if few hundred Pakistanis properties and lives around angoor ada are in danger then army should take it back by force.

Even if true,if the Post was under Pakistan control, they should have never handed it over to ANA because ANA is not loyal to its country and is working on the agenda of anti Afghanistan countries.

They know about their problem much better than someone like you who's living in the west with comfort and don't know the major problems of Pashtuns.

The common pashtun don't give a f about whether he's in Afghanistan or Pakistan but a place to sleep and earn.Pakistan offer better opportunities hence whether those in Afghanistan or in Pakistan want to be in Pakistan.

Do you really believe people living on border would care in which side they end up? The only reason they protested is because they know afghani pathans are slaves of ANA/tajiks. Even people living on edge of border don't want to become citizens of Afghanistan. Don't cry for terrorists being bombed, it only make you sound hypocrite. Forget about Pakistani pathans, even half of Afghani pathans live in Pakistan as refugees. All because of Tajiks/ANA who are on payrol of India.
