Pashtun and Afghan are synonymous terms. In legal application the term Afghan does imply a citizen of Afghanistan yet per Loya jerga of 1949 Durand treaty is nullified thus Pashtuns of Pashtunstian are also legal citizen of Afghanistan--Afghan.

There's no reason for Yemenis to pretend to be Pashtuns, since Pashtuns never conquered Yemen. But Hindustanis were conquered by Pashtuns, hence it makes senses that Wannabe-Pashtuns like yourself would come from Hindustan; since historically the conquered group wants acceptance from the dominant group.

In Pashtun culture; a prerequisite for being Pashtun is having a Pashtun father; My dad is Pashtun which means I have that prerequisites, regardless of where my mother is from.. You and AFB's neither have Pashtun fathers ;which means neither of you can be Pashtun. even if your mothers are Pashtuns.

The reason Ferdousi can tell your Pashto is off is because for people who grew up in Afghanistan, Basic Pashto is a mandatory school subject even in Farsi speaking regions like Herat. Only someone who isn't from Afghanistan wouldn't know that and the fact someone with basic knowledge like Ferdousi can tell, adds evidence to it.
