The faqir of Ipi redeems their history, otherwise their conflict with British government was due to this. The very first expedition of British against Wazirs , was under John Nicolson to pursue the robbers who had robbed inside Bannu. As late as 1968, in Ayub Khan times, Wazirs invaded Bannu and started looting the city, but were expelled by Bannuchis with timely aid of Marwats. After this incident, Bannuchis and Marwats forced Wazirs into an agreement , of not making another attempt on Bannu

As late as of 1968? But I guess those days are long gone now? I know there is no police in FATA so I wonder if tribes still invade each other areas? Probably not, the feuds are likely to be limited to land ownership disputes.Best post in PF history

Yes, as late as 1968. They looted Bannu and were expelling Bannuchis from it. Bannuchis appealed to Marwats , so the latter intervened, and together they expelled the Wazir invaders/looters from Bannu. Many people from my area participated in this war. The copy of the agreement , that subsequently took place between Bannuchis, Wazirs and Marwats, is available in book "The Marwats" by Sher Muhammad Mohmand.Originally posted by tilla_jogian View PostAs late as of 1968? Wazirs were the most predatory Pashtuns in this region, preying on their own Pashtun neighbors (from Kakars and Sheranis on one end to Bannuchis and Dawars on another end). They also used to attack powindah/nomad trade caravans. British ensured that this doesnt happen in the areas under their administration, which greatly agitated the wazir and Mehsud tribes.
