I doubt it because cost of such operation, especially if it means boots on the ground. What Pakistan will do is increase troops along border and start to fence it.Best post in PF history

What will happen? The Pakistani army will step into Afghanistan and take care of the TTP while the Afghan government and people watch helplessly. Not like you guys could have done anything. Either you're hiding in the States or Europe, or you're silently accepting the rule of warlords or Taliban. We'll take care of the TTP, grab some land while we're at it, liberate a few people, bring civilization to a war-torn hell hole and then get out. Case closed.Originally posted by marwat View Postpakistan establishment are building a narrative to go cross border after TTP, and their is possibility that they will give it a try. how are you perceiving the conflict and the regional political paradigm aftermath.

Highly doubtful since it would be too costly and would not accomplish anything. They have a hard time holding land even in waziristan with their troops harassed on a regular basis.Originally posted by marwat View Postpakistan establishment are building a narrative to go cross border after TTP, and their is possibility that they will give it a try. how are you perceiving the conflict and the regional political paradigm aftermath.
They keep begging the US to drone the leadership but they have been doing that for years with nothing accomplished but new leadership more radical than the preceding. The TTP will be paki problem for a long time.

As many members already mention. Launching an operation at any scale is far to costly in foreign land, especially Afghanistan. Having troops in north Waziristan is in itself very costly, but still manageable. If Pakistan have to extend its journey toward Afghanistan, not only will it drain Pakistan dry economically, but also loss of life of the Pakistani military will be unsustainable high.
The reason why Pakistan was able to launch those operations in north west Pakistan, is due to the fact the wast majority of the population relocated. Making it extremely easy for the military to proceed with the march. Even then the cost and the death was still high.
Now imagine coming into a hostile territory in a foreign land. Not mentioning the natural forth that part of Afghanistan is. The air power will be completely useless and the ground troops will be nothing but walking ducks.
Also not to mention that militia all over the country will be standing in line to finally get a chance on killing their ''nemesis''. It will become a billboard of who killed the most Pakistani troops. In war the most important factor is the motivation. Imagine the motivation of finally killing foreign army with no drawback in political rivalry in their own country.
Now lets not forget the notional army of Afghanistan. As much people complain or insults them, calling them names or whatever. The fact is that in the current conflict, they lack motivation due the fact that it is a civil war. No army in the world will have the will to fight, if they don't have anything to fight for. That the situation in Afghanistan. There is no motivation to fight their own country men, especially in the current political situation of Afghanistan. Now imagine the tremendous motivation they will get in a war against their neighboring ''arc rival''. They finally get to fight a foreign enemy and enjoy the full ''honor and glory'' of war. Instead of being seen as criminals among their people, they will be seen as heroes.
It doesn't matter how much 12 year old Pakistani kids thing it is some kind of playstation game, where they click attack and the army with strongest stats win; it will by no means change the reality.
The reality is and will remain, that there is nothing one can do, other than waging a proxy war. In that scenario it will hurt both countries obviously. The best thing these two countries can do, is increasing cooperation with each other and stop the proxy war. This way, both countries can benefit.Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.
People with identity crisis will be ignored as well.

nice explanation, but it's not necessary that they will wage a full fledged attack and move troops against the durand line. but they can air raids the location in Afghanistan territory. in that case Afghanistan can do nothing.Originally posted by DSM0305 View PostAs many members already mention. Pakistan army took years to figure out tribal areas, their own territories. Any mis-adventure , ground-operation inside Afghanistan will be a disaster, they know that. But as pointed out by Marwat, they can carry out air strikes inside Afghanistan, and Afghans will be helpless. From 1949 onwards, Pakistan has in fact bombed villages of Afghanistan through Jets on multiple occasions. Pakistan can also send special commando forces SSG to Afghanistan, though track record of this unit is poor and are not on par with Navy Seals or Green berrets of America.

Is this Afghan trash-talking? Pounding your chest and grunting like an ape, talking about Afghan superiority while you and your country are getting another rectal examination from militant groups? Yeah, we've had our fair share of attacks. Plenty of them. But you can't compare an attack on an educational institution to a siege and capture of an entire city.

Look - it's not going to happen. It's never going to happen. We don't like the TTP, while you've already admitted: you want these militants to come to power. You want your son to be molested by a gang of unwashed, unshaven, illiterate farmers. You want your wife to be burnt alive in a crowd for desecrating the Quran. You want to have your hand cut off for being a traitorous refugee who fled his country and lived in a Pakistani refugee camp before buying a fake Pakistani CNIC and becoming an asylum seeker in the West. We Pakistanis don't want this. We have no support or sympathy for that band of thugs. You do.Originally posted by marwat View PostThese are specialty of ttp, the savage was nurtured for yours woman only.. you baboon have messed with wrong guys, now watch your inevitable massacre.
