why TTP goes for too much soft targets like the one they did today blown scores of people who were standing in a line to get CNIC.
some times soft targets attacks are done by lone wolf loosely associated with TTP and are not actually acknowledged by the central authority, some are pure revenge style like the APS massacre, others are sectarian based, some are targets based where high profile is targeted and as a result innocents dies too. all of these are understandable, but what taliban are trying to portray from these types of attacks that occurred today and fully acknowledged by TTP. this way the are harming themselves and they are loosing all the support of even those people who backed them once. they are actually helping the government.

The lost the plot from very beginning. Those who have had sympathies with them, was out of ignorance that Taliban can never target innocent people, it must be black-waters or ISI. They didnt watch the videos of TTP leaders, who justified attacks on mosques, Jirgas and Bazaars. These attacks are not "collateral damages" of a war, its terrorism and fasad fil arz, deliberately attacking innocent people as in this case of attack on NADRA office. They are not fighting for Islam, they are revenge-seeking souls whose hearts have been consumed by darkness. Similar thing happened to Sikhs. Mughals behaved cruelly with them, they were victims in the beginning, but in the revenge-seeking, they became worst oppressors and killers of innocent Musalman of Punjab immediately after death of Aurangzeb. APS and hundreds of other events shows that they are primarily motivated by revenge and this islam sharia talk is just to give ideological backbone to their group. In the period between 2004 and 2007, people had sympathies with them due to haramzadgi of Pakistani army in backstabbing Afghanistan for America but after that they witnessed the true meaning of terror and mindless blood shedding, aimed mostly against their own Pashtuns.

I agree with most of what you said. I would add: Taliban on both side of the border kill civilians during their attacks. Both groups have occasionally rejected responsibility for some attacks due to negative publicity.

The reason why militants kill civilians is because an asymmetric war by a non state actor is fought everywhere. Everything is turned into a battlefield and that's why both sides, the state and the insurgent kill innocent bystanders.

The amount of civilians killed by insurgents is probably allot less than victims of the state. Because the state uses, tanks, rockets, bombs, airplanes and drones. They have unlimited firepower and disregard for people in restive area's.

The victims of states aggression consider everyone who is aligned with it as enemies. The total disregard for human life by the state and silence of masses is seen as tacit approval.

From an Islamic perspective, there is no justification for killing innocent bystanders. But militants have borrowed theological arguments from Muslim Brotherhood in the 80's. Back then, the so called mujahideen use to target civilians and kill them. When asked why they kill innocent people, they use to say: we can't judge if they are innocent or not. If they die as innocents, they will go to paradise, if they are sinners, then they will end up in hell. They considered their actions as justified because they believed they were achieving greater good by doing what they did.

Taliban, al Qaeda and ISIS have invented new arguments built on same reasoning used previously by Ikhwanis.

The reason why they do this is because fiqh of Jihad is not developed. Current books on jihad are either written by amateurs of al Qaeda and Ikhwanul Muslimeen or they are reproductions old books branded as modern fiqh.

The truth is, Muslims don't even have proper fiqh books for much more mundane practical matters of modern life. Jihad is a very delicate and highly sensitive matter. It requires much more knowledge and understanding.

We don't have qualified scholarly work on mundane matters of modern life. How can we expect people to act appropriately during jihad when there are no new books and teachings?

On the other hand, the masses of Muslim world are deceived and misguided by fat halwakhor pigs serving governments. People are told that the militants are evil and bad because they create havoc and kill innocents. None of those Pakistani harami molvis dares to condemn the state.

This situation is therefore unsolvable because there is no willingness among the people to confront these problems in a realistic manner.

Most people just tow the line of their own faction or party and religion is only subservient to the interests of groups, parties and factions.

Yep, all three massacres of innocents in current day east punjab after winning battle with mughals. But I have seen sikhs denying this but its there in history books. Sikhs also throwed out arain zamindars and occupied their land, arains used to own good part of east punjab fertile lands.

In other words most muslims are nuts, and there is no way to solve the mess they have created. For the first time I agree with you.

Since insurgents can not match the military might of the gov, their attacks 1.demonstrate that the government cannot protect its citizens and
2.attack economic targets to scare off foreign and domestic investors from investing in the economy.
The goal is to erode public confidence in the gov. If the gov uses terror tactics of their own to subdue the insurgents, they risk alienating their own population and condemnation from the international community and will be used as a recruiting tool by the insurgents.
If the TTP is losing the paki population sympathy, it is not because of their attacks, it is because of the successful propaganda campaign of the paki state. The paki state has killed much more civilians than the TTP.

Yeah, Pakistani public is that stupid. TTP kill their kids, and attack innocent business owners, yet Pakistanis hold sympathy for them. LOL

RIP. Sadist cowards. The views of the two sick *******s makes me sick to stomach. There is no justification what so ever for killing people in the middle of city while lining up in front of an office. There cannot be any further explanations around it, period.

The killing is both ways, not one way. You are becoming like your old buddy Shamlawar and misrepresenting what Im writing. They are losing the little sympathy they had.
                      See here
Gallup surveys show the Taliban lost much of the little favor they had in Pakistan between June and December last year. Four percent of Pakistanis in late 2009 said the Taliban has a positive influence in some areas of the country, down from 15% earlier in the year.

Remember the paksitani public was against using force against the insurgents, their gov did not listen to their public.

As the pak army started operations in FATA, the violence spread through paksitan and it became unstable.

As you can see in this pewpoll from 2012, it is evident that the public holds negative opinion from extremists that are fighting the pak army and have mixed opinion about extremist groups that are promoted by the pak army like the ones in kashmir and the haqqani network.
Following a year of tensions between their country and the United States, Pakistanis continue to hold highly unfavorable views of the U.S. and offer bleak assessments of the relationship between the two nations. And President Obama is held in exceedingly low regard. Additionally, over the last few years, Pakistanis have become less willing to work with the U.S. on efforts to combat extremist groups.
