When we already have a state that was created for Pashtuns what sense does it make in creating a new one? According to the statistics Admin provided some even say Pashtuns are near 70 percent. If Pakhtunkhwa merges with us we will be become powerful.
That state that was created by (and not for Pashtuns as such) Pashtuns was broken into half in 1893 and more than half the Pashtun population came under British domination. Add that with the exodus of Pashtuns after 1979 and you're left with a multi-ethnic state and not a state of Pashtuns at all. That historical wrong of 1893 is yet to be corrected.

Of course when (and not if) Pashtunkhwa re-merges with the motherland, Pashtuns will represent 90% or more of the population of the new state and that would be ideal. The neighboring tribes and races would become our subjects just like we are ourselves subjects to foreign ethnic groups nowadays. Such an occurrence is impossible these days and improbable in the next decade. However, one day, perhaps after our lifetime, Pashtuns will reunite.

So we are a threat? We have nothing against Pashtuns. I am married to a Pashtun.

This Pashtun vs Tajik issue has been exagerrated by the ISI. We speak Pashto in Pashtun dominated provinces. Pashtuns speak Dari in Dari dominated provinces.

As lewanaye zalme stated a pashtun state state of atleast 90% of pashtun population. That would be real freedom. Where we would have no threat from other ethnicities and there is no rival ethnicity to rule.

you guys can see whats happening in iraq (70% shia and 30% sunni).
LOL... tajiks are not some bala or babaw!... to tell u the truth, they are the ones that pose the least threat to pashtoons. they are themselves very intigrated with pashtoons.... just like pashtoons speak Dari in Tajik dominated areas, Tajiks speak pashto in pashtoon dominated area...

if you every afghanistan you will know whats going on there....

many of you out of afghanistan don't even know that its not just tajik vs pashtoon, there is tajik vs, uzbak, tajik vs hazara, hazara vs pashtoons, uzbak vs pashtoon.

the real threat pashtoons face is from uzbaks ... Dostum was/is uzbak!

You people are HILARIOUS. over 50%....? There is no way over 50% of the population speaks pashto. In another thread I said "Farsi speaking pashtun" and someone replied with "oh if they dont speak pashto they arnt pashtun" BUT oh wait, when its time for the census.....its all, "no your pashtun" "you dont speak pashto? its ok".

^yes, because he was pakistani spy!... he was himself an ISI posing here as a pashtoon... he doesn't represent the thoughts of afghans (tajik or pashtoon). tajiks that i have met in my life are proud afghans citizens themselves... i have yet to meet a tajik that wants to join iran or any other neighboring country.

loy afghanistan or the current afghanistan...

we can't loose afghanistan... da tolo pakhtano ghairat dai afghanistan.

so before you begin passing judgements it's always nice to take a look at those studies.

                Thanks.

Notable companies and organizations? Please, first of all that is just a chart. There is no sources or anything.
Secondly, you conveniently forgot to mention the CIA factbook. It lists Pashtuns at only 42% of the population.
Furthermore, people who speak Pashto are only 35% of the population. Now let me ask you this,
if a person does not speak pashto, do you still consider him/her Pashton.

Yup, only reason why there is still unrest in Balkh is because Tajiks and Uzbeks can't seem to get along. Since Dostum left, it's Uzbeks' (mainly Dostum's men) turn to be oppressed and this time by Tajiks. (Can't say they don't deserve it.)

Not really, only threat to Pukhtoons are we ourselves and if we seriously believe others are a strong enough to threaten the oh-so powerful Pukhtoons, then we shouldn't dare call ourselves brave and prideful if we can't even decide for ourselves what our future should look like.

We didn't decide this, obviously those people themselves decide what they want to be known as and very clearly, majority is identified as Pukhtoons; Whether they speak Pukhto or not.

Dari speaking pashtuns (who cant speak pashto) can not be called as pashtuns so i think proper pashtuns constitute 35-38% of population of Afghanistan.

Luffy first we should establish stats for this, the CIA ones are sketchy since they first said we were 38% then boosted us to 38 %. Dari-speaking Pashtuns are normally concentrated within Kabul City and/or Herat city. Outside of it and in the Kabul Province, the Pashtuns there are the majority and they are pashto speakers. It is like the Jadoons of Hazara division. Pashtunkhwa 90% are pashto speakers but the one area where you will find non-pashto speaking pashtuns is in Hazara division. That is the case for Afghanistan, the dari speakers are concentrated in Kabul or in Herat city. This is a very small population of Pashtuns if you compare those of Ghazni, Wardak, Loy Paktia, Ningrahar, Kunduz, Kunarr, Kandahar, Helmand, Farah, etc.

Punjabized and paksitani patriotis will always work for pakistan so I prefer a pashtun who lost his language but still supports Afghan intrests rather than a pashtun who lost his language and supports pakistan.
In an ideal world, both would be just as bad. However as of now, and due to the policy of GHQ, you are right. Pathanthob is the biggest killer of Pashtuns.

afghanistan has no monopoly over pashtuniyat... Pashtun tribes in Pakistan are heavy weight champions in terms of pashtunism.

what about those tajiks, uzbaks that speak fluent pashto... can they be counted as pashtoons? what do you think about counting fluent pashto speaking tajiks as pashtoons? can we?
